Question about 1999 Saturn SL
Front door remove the mirror first, from the inside out small panel comes off with a screw and two or three large nuts are exposed.
Both doors remove the exterior door handle, lift it up and you will see
two pins which can be pushed out and then the handle comes off.
Get a star driver and remove ALL the bolts holding the plastic panel onto the door frame.
Lower the window and lift the panel up and away, gently.

There are two plastic slip pins that on the handle that will require a small pick to knock them out with. They will come out either pushing them towards the front of the vehicle or if you are pushing them out towards the back fender direction. Make sure that you aren't in gravel or grass since these pins need to go back in and are easily lost. After that, there are torx screw on the inside of the door. When you have removed all of them the skin of the door will remove from the outside.

There are two plastic slide pins that are on the door knob itself. These need to be pushed out while holding the handle up. Make sure you don't lose them since you will need them to put the panel back on. The other thing that is needed is to take the torx screws out of the door on the bottom and around the door (inside part of panel). Be careful not to break the plastic on the panel since there are clips that goes on the plastic panel; however, if they do break, just use J-B Weld, the quick dry, to fix them.Get some never seize at Advance Auto to place on the threads of the torx bolts so they will never stick again. The mirror will also, need to come off which requires a 10mm deep swell socket, there are usually 3 bolts for that. To access those bolts, take a screwdriver and pry off the plastic cover...it is on with clips.

SOURCE: how do u remove a
You have to support the engine from up top usually an engine crane or cherry picker will work fine, the engine cradle or subframe will have to be removed in order to remove the transmission, once the engine cradle is removed you can continue on by disconnection all electrical items going to the transmission, your torque converter drive bolts and so forth, the front exhaust pipe to engine has to be disconnected and moved aside to, once your ready to unbolt the transmission from the engine make sure you have the transmission supported with a floor jack or the transmission will fall right out on the floor.....
