Sounds like you may have some fouled spark plugs, could be caused by a bad O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, bad fuel pressure regulator or throttle positioning sensor.

Stumbling on acceleration

You may be cruising down the wrong road with the exhaust idea but then you might be right. An exhaust restriction should also cause the engine to run hot. A faulty cat should also set some codes.
If the injectors are dirty, you may have a very lean fuel mix on one or more cylinders under acceleration, which would go away once you are not under load. And injector problems won't set any codes unless an injector stops working completely. Low fuel pressure could cause the same type of issue.

1990 buick century limited/ v-6 engine has fuel in the oil. need a fix.

could be a bad fuel pressure regulator. if they do fail, then it may result in low pressure. Mostly, the diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator develops a leakage and the fuel enters the vacuum hose. This may lead to various kinds of troubles in the engine. Signs of a Bad Fuel Pressure Regulator
  • The vehicle engine runs rough and often stumbles and sputters.
  • The engine will not start after ignition. Usually, this problem is encountered in the morning when you start your vehicle. Many times, the engine starts, but stalls shortly after starting.
  • The fuel pump in the vehicle becomes noisy at times.
  • A bad fuel pressure regulator can also result in fouled spark plugs.
  • Last but not the least, the fuel mileage of the engine decreases noticeably. if above signs appear, replace fuel regulator. Check the oil dipstick and see if you smell fuel on it. If you do, it could be a symptom of a bad fuel regulator. The regulator has allowed gasoline to leak into the oil system.

I have a 2005 chevy impala 3.4l v6. I am getting the code P0300 (multiple misfire).i recently changed the spark plugs/wires/coils and have checked all vacuum lines, but my car is still idling...

Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.
Symptoms Symptoms may include:
  • the engine may be harder to start
  • the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
  • other symptoms may also be present
Causes A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor (more than likely your culprit)
  • Defective computer
Possible Solutions If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck

Wont start getting fire and fuel it just runs over til the batter dies

ok since you didn't give alot of information like the year and the engine
i'm going to assume that it is fuel injected
i know you said it is getting fuel did you check the fuel pressure
i know you said it has fire did you use a spark tester it may have spark but not enough to fire a spark tester
and if all that is ok fuel pressure and it will fire a spark tester then check the compression
next time the more information you can give the better chance we have of helping you

Got fire but wont stay running without starter fluid ]

You may have a dirty Fuel filter or a bad fuel pump and will need to be replaced. Start with the fuel filter first since it's the easier one to replace and if you can get and fuel pressure regulator, check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve to make sure the fuel pump is pushing enough pressure. Not sure which engine code you have, X should have 42-45psi and the W should have 62-65psi. Good luck and hope this helps.

If the car fired after pouring gas into the engine, then you should check your fuel pump, listen when you turn on the key, if you hear the fuel pump start and stop, then check your fuel pressure, all fuel injected vehicles have fuel pressure regulators, if your fuel pump isnt pushing enough pressure to the regulator the car will not start, and if it does start it wont operate properly, and may even leave you stranded.. If your fuel pressure is low, check the fuel filter, dirty filters restrict pressure, and are ALOT cheeper to replace than a fuel pump!

Engine turns over but wil not start

Sounds like a fuel pressure regulator or possible fuel pump next time it wont start on the first try turn the key on and off a few times and then try it. Also locate the fuel pressure regulator and remove the vacuum hose have some one turn the key on if it leaks out fuel the regulator is bad becarefull when doing this the system is under high pressure and can possibly soary gas in youre face. Also check the tune up most of these engines have lots of problems with distributor caps and rotors
