May be heater core leaking. pain in the rear to replace. Is your heater working, or car running hot? Those are signs of heater core failure. You can always bypass heater core if heat isnt important to you. But I recommend replacing core if it is bad.

My 2000 honda civic has a leak in either the tail light or trunk leaking into the passenger compartment on the drivers side

I am assuming the water comes in when it rains.
Could be the trunk gasket or the tail light.
You may need a body shop to find the leak.

My 1995 honda civic has water coming out from below the dashboard on the passenger's side. What the probable cause of this and how can I repair it myself. Thank you.

sounds like the the heater core. are you losing water from the engine, if so this would be the problem, o if it only leaks when ac is runnibng you have a drain that's probably plugged (usually a rubber hose under hood monted to heater control box. unplug it, if it's the heater core, possibly removeable under hood, but most likely under dash on inside,

There appears to be some liquid coming out under the car but not sure where. It's not oil but more like water. I don't know where the leak is coming from. It's a very small amount. My car is a 1997...

There are only three places the water could come from. 1. The radiator. It should be the color of the coolant, greenish. 2. The AC. And 3. The exhaust. Quantity of water leaked is dependent on the leak in case of 1, while for 2 or 3 is very small. 3 is generally in cold weather.

Water leaks on passenger floor in my 97 honda civic

I have a 1997 Toyota Camry. Water was collecting on the front PASSENGER floor after a rain. I opened my sunroof and found the front drainage holes (about 1/8" diameter) in the corners of the track sunroof track. They looked clear. I poured a bottle of water in track and watched the result. Sure enough, water started dripping from the right ride of the glove box on to the floor. I started tearing out the interior panels to trace the leak. What I found is that if I poured the bottle of water REALLY slow into the sunroof hole = no leaks. But if I pour it too fast the small 1/8" hole cannot keep up and the track overflows! THAT is where the leak comes from in my car! If water overflows the track, then it makes its way down the column trim, around the glove box and on to the floor.

So I need to help the 1/8" sunroof hole drain faster. I took some 18AWG TFFN electrical wire and jammed it into the hole to help clean it out. I then removed the black plastic mud flap behind my front tire and blew out all of the leaves and rotted debris that where behind that flap. It was packed with junk! I poured more into the 1/8" hole and it seemed to drain quicker.

I hope this information helps others.

if this only occurs only when you wash the car or it rains then you either have a rust through at the cowl or front pillar or the seal around the windshield is leaking. sounds like a job for the glass shop. they will remove the glass check for rust and replace the seal.

It could be coming in through the rear door as the rubber might not be sealing properly the easiest way to find the leak is to remove your seats and carpet sit inside get someone to squirt the car round the doors and windscreen air vents.
