Radio stopped working today in my 2002 Impala. The radio says SCAN and will not play any music. The radio also stays on after the car is turned off. The car has been sitting for 7 hours and the radio is still lite up with SCAN on the face.

Replace the radio. The head unit is probably bad if this is the factory radio. Get one from a junk yard or ebay. This is not very common but also not unheard of with Delco radios. Another head unit should cure the problem.

How to wire an aftermarket wire harness for a 2002 impala

I have a 2000 impala. Today I just had to buy a $115 wire harness just to hook up my deck and speakers. It's because there's two pieces instead of one to connect to the harness. It's because when u turn your key off ,your radio plays until you open the door. The harness comes with a fan type thing ,that keeps everything from dying.hope this helps

My 2002 impala radio heater blower and lights wont shut off after car car is off stays on till i disconnect the battery.

There may be a keep-alive relay or module that lets you play the radio after you turn the key off until you open the door.
This relay or module may have failed. Thats actually three different circuits but two are controlled by the key switch.
You may have to get a shop manual to troubleshoot the circuits.

2002 Chevy Impala Radio Doesn't Work

Check the radio fuse? Box is drivers side end of dash(drivers door open)or pass side end of dash(passenger door open)
police models have a connection for the speakers (passenger floorboard under floor mat) to connect the speakers to the police radios.
If they had the speakers connected to their radios, they may have unhooked them and not connected them back to the radio.
The wires are brown, grey, blue and light blue. All into a blue connector.

2002 Ram Radio problem

It sounds like a cold soldered joint internally in the radio. My advice is to buy a nice aftermarket radio with an MP3 CD player. MP3 gives you the option to burn music from your computer. In addition, MP3 CDs will hold over 100 songs per CD.
It MIGHT be a poor connection at the power connector on the rear of the radio. You could try pulling out the radio and cleaning the connection before purchasing a new radio.
