Something is not functioning correctly by the computers settings. To find out what it is go to any Auto Zone and they will perform a free scan of the codes held in the vehicles computer. It is a free service to all their customers and they will advise you what the problem is and the cost of the part if they happen to stock it

There are several reasons the check engine lite comes on. The light is to alert the driver there is a problem. The only thing to do now is take it to a shop or perhaps Advance Auto or Auto Zone [ or a company like that]to have them test it for you. This will give you an idea of what must be done to repair the problem. Also - please take down the VIN number - - and go to the local dealer to ask them if there are any RECALLS that will save you thousands of dollars over the years.
