    oops, laptop messed up,

you do not have an inertia switch, only ford and jaguars have them. most likley the main relay failed. its located above and to the side of the fuse box on the driver in cab side. It powers the fuel pump and the igniton and either systm could be affected by it. if you had a short you also have a fuse for the fuel pump in that fuse box that could of popped.

Hi!!

Check fuel pump Fuse and Relay, usually in engine compartment fuse box. If both ok, check wiring, remember that about 85% of the time the problem is not the 12V but the GROUND, so check both.

Good Luck!

Also, check the Inertia Switch, is the one that cuts power to the Fuel Pump when involved in a colision. Depends where it is located, it can activate by just letting the car jack drop too fast after you worked on the pump. Just pressing the button will reset it

I found that the Main Relay, which is located under the dash near the fuse box is used insted of the Inertia Swich or Fuel Cut-Off Switch. Here is how you check it:

Remove the relay fro the connector and verify that there is battery voltage (when the ignition switch is in the ON position) at the Black/Yellow wire of the connector.

If there is no voltage, check the #2 fuse, if fuse is OK the Relay needs to be checked or replaced.

To check Relay you need a pair of jumper wires:

Connect one end of a jumper wire to the #6 terminal of the Relay and the other end to the (+) battery post. Connect one end of the second jumper wire to the #8 to the (-) battery post. while Relay is connected, check for:

Continuity between terminals 5 & 7 I there is no continuity, REPLACE RELAY. If there is continuity, disconnect jumper fom terminal #6 and connect it in #5, disconnect the #8 terminal and connected to #2, check for continuity between terminals 1 & 3. If no continuity REPLACE RELAY.

If there is continuity, , disconnect jumper from terminal #5 and connect it in terminal #3, disconnect the #2 terminal and connected to #8, check for continuity between terminals 5 & 7, if no continuity, REPLACE RELAY. If there is continuity, check wiring harness from fuse box to the relay and the pump.

Get yourself a wiring diagram & study it & then
start testing the fuel circuit

How would you know whether you had power or
now power, to anything, working blindly?

You listen to what your told.
I wouldn't-- you may have changed a good fuel pump

I NEVER walk to any vehicle without a wiring diagram

How would you learn the system & the circuits, without one?

Injector not working why put new injector new computer new fuel pump does it have injector relay 1987 celebrity

Check fuel pressure. Have you replaced the fuel filter on schedule? Verify that the fuel pump is getting power. Power goes through an in-line fuse, then the fuel pump relay or the oil pressure sensor. (The relay bypasses the oil pressure sensor while the engine starts, but fuel pump power goes through the sensor during normal run operation. If you lose oil pressure, the fuel pump is shut off to protect the engine.) On four-cylinder models, the fuse is in the fuse block (E PUMP 10)
The fuel injectors are connected to the ECM fuse on one side and straight to the engine computer on the other side. Check the connectors and wiring, especially at the injector.

New fuel pump and secondary fuel mod and still won't staart ( no fuel )

Not sure what secondary fuel mod you are posting about, can you explain what this is ?
Have you checked the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?
Is this a 2004 New Body style or 2004 Heritage / Lightning ?
If it is a New body style, have you checked / replaced the fuel pump driver module ? This is on the cross member by the spare tire, and some times they get corroded and crack.
44248c8.jpg

The fuel pump is powered from the Fuel pump relay ( non serviceable in the Cab fuse panel ) to the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump driver module. The PCM is also connected to the fuel pump driver module
The fuel pump relay normally open contact is powered by Fuse #34 ( this fuse also feeds the PCM ). The fuel pump relay coil is powered by the PCM power relay.
If you are testing and the truck has not started, the PCM will shut off the Fuel pump after 5 seconds ( 8 ? ) of not having started. The only way to clear this is to have the truck start, or disconnect the battery.
Have you tested the fuel pressure on the fuel rail ?

It will not start. We changed the fuel pump three times. Each time the new fuel pump will not hum or buzz when you turn the igntion.

Did you check the fuel pump wiring harness, fuel pump ground , power to the fuel pump, fuel pump fuse , fuel pump relay
