Sounds like it would be the starter, but make sure you are using a good pair of jumper cables, and they are making a good connection to each vehicle. Also check to see that your battery terminals are tight.

I been having the same problem but i dont think its starter. My car starts and runs fine, but after a drive i park it come back to it and it wont start again. then i have to let it sit for 2 hours and it will start again. I have checked the temp on my car and its fine no signs of over heating. Do u think it could be the Ignition coils or module.

Why won't my car start? What is making the clicking noises coming from the engine compartment?

soleniod on the starter motor is the most likely source of the clicking noise. The starter motor may be faulty and not cranking over the motor.

I have my old mobile aurora 2001 when try to start my relay is click but when start to direct to starter is crank for few secons and going off I have good battery

1) Could be the charging system (alternator). Get the car running, jump or charge the battery. Next, measure the voltage at the battery. With the car running, this should be 13.7 to 15.1 volts. If it's less or more, then you will need to replace the alternator/regulator - one unit.
2) Could just be a poor cable connection. Remove and clean the battery connections - large cables. Make sure they are properly attached, then try starting again.

99 Aurora. 2nd starter. Car sometimes won't start. Sounds like starter solenoid. When it doesn't start, I turn the key and hear solenoid click. Mechanic claims it's not the starter. This happens about once...

We had the same issue on an 2001 Aurora. I left it for a year before it finally annoyed me enough to fix it. In our case it was the starter. The only difference was we didn't get a click of the solenoid when it happened.
I would guess the starter OR the alignment of the starter. If the starter is not aligned properly, sometimes when the solenoid engages it does not throw the gear out into the flywheel properly.
The "starts with a jump" doesn't make any sense to me. If this is really the case I would look at the battery and connections for an issue. If you do not have enough power to engage the starter properly this could be the issue.

My 2001 oldsmobile aurora, wont start in the cold mornings, unless i put a heat to the starter ?

the battery is going weak. check voltage at battery when engine is off, should be at least 13 volts if alternator is ok. when running if alternator is ok, then it should read at battery post at least 14 to 14.5

New battery but car wont start without jump

Just to be sure. Check to make sure all connection on the battery are good. You should read 12.9V or somewhere around there. I would start by checking the clip on the left side of the battery where you have all your positive wires. And make sure that connection is good. Sometimes it gets weather and you no longer have a good enough connection for bigger power users like the starter to work. However the lights and radio still may work. If you still have a problem, check the starter. It may be bad. If the car is on and when you go to start it and all you hear is a clicking noise, then its the starter. Good Luck!

Cutlass supreme wont start

It could possibly be the starter, but before you get that far make sure the Battery cables are connected very tight. If loose the car won't start or do anything. Also make sure the battery cable is grounded.
