My 2003 f350 6.0 started to have turbo lag when in a strain and i can give it more fuel and it will blow out alot of black smoke and it clears up does anyon have any sugestions on what it could be

That depends on what color the smoke is. Blue smoke means burning oil and you probably loosing compression therefore loosing power. White smoke means coolant

time to rebuild motor or replace it. The smoke your seeing is pressure from the cylinder escaping around the piston rings into the crankcase and venting out the covers

have you checked the oil levels blue smoke is oil typically piston rings/ vavle seals depending on severity and condition of vehicle u should weight all options. give us more info. how much of a lose of power and how much smoke when did this start is there any check engine lights is there over heating ect ect

your gas to air ratio is off. Too much gas not enough air,flooding,check if the gaskets are tight for the fuel area.
