Check your drive belt, this si the belt at the front of the engine. Make sure its secured and not loose. with the powersteering not working and the battery light lit may idicate a faulty serpentine belt (drive belt). If this is ok, please post additional info..hopefully this helps!!

I just replace the power steering pump and gear box on 98 ram 1500 gas engine. When I apply brakes to turn corner, I lose power steering. Help please!

Unless you have a power steering assisted brake booster more common with a diesel, you may have a new pump issue like the flow control valve in the pump or air in the system yet, check for air bubbles or a milky looking fluid and the correct fluid. Try in a parking lot out of the way of traffic to put in neutral while moving, rev the motor slightly and brake as you would when the PS assist stops,by revving the motor just off idle this will increase the PS pressure it should act normal if it's a flow control issue and if the pump is capable of producing the correct pressure.

How to add power steering fluid to 2008 pontiac g6

If you can't find a power steering fluid reservoir under the hood in the engine compartment your G6 could have Electronic Power Steering . If you look up under the dash below the steering column you will see a electric motor mounted to the steering column !
The power steering system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the powertrain control module (PCM), body control module (BCM), power steering control module (PSCM), discrete battery voltage supply circuit, steering shaft torque sensor, steering wheel position sensor, power steering motor, driver information center (DIC), and the serial data circuit to perform the system functions. The PSCM and the power steering motor are serviced as an assembly and are serviced separately from the steering column assembly. The steering shaft torque sensor and the steering wheel position sensor are not serviced separately from each other or from the steering column assembly. The steering column assembly does not include the power steering motor and module assembly.

Check gauges light on all the time. I replaced radiator cap and topped up coolant . Also checked and topped up engine oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid . All gauges show normal reading but the check...

The light says check gauges? This doesn't mean fluids are low. Look at the gauges, something is out of spec. A common one is the alternator, if the voltage drops below usually 12v, the light comes on.

2004 honda accord accidentally put power steering fluid in my engine and addednoil. Car freaked out

You might have two issues here. First drain the engine oil and replace with fresh. Second it seems like you may have an electrical issue. On that problem, check your battery connections. THEY MUST BE CLEAN!! Then you want to check basic battery voltage. Should be at least 12 volts. If not then you have a bad battery. If the voltage is good then I have questions. What lights are flashing? external or dash lights? Does it have a security system other than what comes stock? and when you say it wont start do you mean that the engine wont turn over at all? or will it turn over for a long time and not start?

I have a 06 saturn ion, automatic, i left my lights on, my battery died so i got a jump start, now the check engin light is on, the power steering indicator is on, the speedometer doesnt work and when

most of the time people unknowingly jump start the vehicle and blow the steering fuse in the engine compartment-this is a very common problem that I have seen at least 2x a week. The check engine light is probably related to a battery voltage low code or an electronic steering code. Check your owners manual for the location of the fuse and just replace it.

How do I fix the power steering n my mazda rx8 04?

My RX8 had the same problem. First, change your battery cable ends. On the Positive cable there is a white wire that powers the power steering. It probably has a bad connection at the battery post. I cut the end off my rx8 and just put a regular battery cable end on it and my problem was solved.

About a month ago, with no warning I went to my car and found no power at all. No lights, no radio no power. I got a jump. When I got the jump, movement on the positive cable, caused a clicking sound...

Have the alternator checked to see how much it is producing .It should be 13.65 to 14.25 anything lower is not aceptable.Low current from the alternator is causing the strange happenings with the lights.Check the belt for the power steering problem,if the belt is bad,it might cause the alternator not to charge properley.Clean the positive cable ends, and the new battery post,so that they shine. If this was any help at all, please let us know, thank you.

The powered steering in my mini is not working correctly, the steering is very heavy and it would appear the power steering doesnt exist of my mini cooper s 2004 model.

check the power steering fluid if it is full then you would have to replace your power steering pump if not you might have a leak and if so get that fixed before you destroy your power steering pump.
