Have you tested the coil with an external sparkplug? This also may indicate fuel injector leak/not working....test electrical connectors for the coil and fuel injector to determine which is faulty. This misfire could also be caused by faulty cam/crank sensors. Hopefully this helps....post additional info if you need additional help!!

2006 Mazda 6 3.0L. Got a misfire Cyl. #6. Replaced spark plug & coil. Still misfire. Swapped coil and same result. #6 misfire??????????????

misfires are more often from a blocked/faulty injector rather than electronic
pull the injector and clean or replace
check for injector operation and wires

Misfire on Cylinder 3 swapped plugs between 3 and 4 on Pontiak Aztek 2003. Misfire remained on cylinder 3. Swapped ignition coil 3 and 6 with ignition coil 1 and 4 misfire still on cylinder 3

Try a new plug wire on cyl 3 if that doesn't fix it you could have a bad valve or compression problem on cyl 3 Try doing a compression test also If it has injectors for each cylinder you could have a bad injector for cylinder number 3

How to fix code P0306 cylinder 6 misfire?

Swap spark plug with cylinder 4. Swap COP (coil over plug) with cylinder 2.
If problem moves to cyl 4, bad spark plug.
If problem moves to cyl 2, bad COP.
If problem remains in cyl 6, suspect valve or piston problem.
Start with compression check

Number five plug not firing

I'm assuming this is a DIS(distibutorless ignition system). If it is,the most common cause is a defective coil pack. Each coil will fire a pair of cylinders together on 4 and 6 cylinder engines(one "waste" spark, one to ignite the mixture).Try swapping the wires at the coil pack to see if the misfire follows the coil tower,or the same cylinder misfires(keep in mind that a check engine light means you will have to clear the code to get the computer to feed that cylinder fuel before you start it up again). If the other cyl on the pack now misfires(i believe 1+5 are on the same pack on a Ford engine),then the coil is bad(spark is "leaking"to ground). If the same cyl still misfires, try swapping a wire+plug from another cylinder.

CEL light flashing-shuddering when idle. 03 passat 1.8 Turbo. Thinking its an air leak somewhere? Can hear air but can't figure out where its coming from...

A flashing cel indicates misfiring. A common problem is a bad ignition coil. The easiest route for diagnosis is the check the trouble codes(autozone and some other parts stores will scan for free, or an OBDII code reader is not too expensive to buy). The code should tell you which cylinder is misfiring(PO301 means cyl #1, 302 cyl #2, etc). Once you know which it is, swap the ignition coils around. If you have a #1 misfire, swap coils 1 and 4, clear the codes, then check it again. If the misfire moves, you know you've got a bad coil. If the misfire is air or fuel related, as with an intake leak, other codes should come up as well as the misfire.

2006 dodge caravan, 6 cyl. relaced cole, sparkepugs and wires in oct. 2009. Engine is reading #2 cyl. misfire again. Why

Firts time swap spark plug & ignition coil between two different cylinders and read again if the same #2 cyl. misfires !
If #2 cyl. is OK and another cyl. misfires then spark plug or ignition coil is out of order and must be replaced.
If #2 cyl. misfires again then #2 injector must be checked !
If ignition coils & spark plugs (complete set for 6 cyl.) are replaced then you must check #2 injector !

I put seafoam in a 01 mits diamante(oil) drove fine now has code

if you have a coil on plug system, or a waste spark system.... swap coils and see if the miss follows the coil.... voila... that'll fix it.
