Question about 2001 Volkswagen Golf

1 Answer

My 2002 2 liter vw golf gl has occasional and momentary loss of power when gas tank is below 1/4 full. Now when I left work, it would not start. It turns over normally but doesn't fire. No smell of gas. Is this likely to be fuel related? Any advice would be helpful Ivor Cooper

It may be due to a bad fual pump open the little door to the gas cap and put your ear up to the tank and have someone turn the ignition on and see if you hear the pump, if nothing it may be in your pump.

There is a ticking noise from standard vw golf engine,

It would not hurt to check it but the loss of oil and the loss of coolant are worrying. I would have a compression test done to check the head gasket and head. The tick may be compression gas escaping at the gasket. That would also account for coolant loss. Have a pressure test done on the cooling system to check for leaks. Towing a trailer ( I guess that it had a bit in it) over a long distance at speed ( probably 60 mph or better) places strain on a good engine but if the engine is on par or below then faults appear

FUEL SHOWS FULL, ONLY HAVE HALF TANK OF GAS. CANT PUT GAS IN, NOZZLE SHUTS OFF LIKE ITS FULL

IIRC there is a fix from VW about a redesigned filler neck. I have had several Bugs and Golfs with this problem. I refer them to VW.

Where is the oil pressure sensor of vw golf 1999

The sensors are usually found on the oil filter flange housing with the oil cooler. Also there are two dynamic sensors to measure pressure below 2000 rpm and above 2000 rpm so it could warn you of pressure loss within those two ranges.

Hi i have a vw polo 2003 1.2, basically before i

that's...thirty liters or so?...10.4 liters per hundred. I'm getting 30 UK MPG...that sounds rather low for a 1.2 . it should be getting 35-40, I believe. better get yourself a tuneup if you can afford it.

2002 vw golf rear windshield washer

the washer pipe will have blown appart.this happens if you opperate the rear washer when it is frozen.it will either be off in the tailgate usually when this happens there is water around the catch when you open the tailgate.or in the headlining in the left rear, have a feel and see if the headlining is wet.to avoid this reoccuring use a good screenwash with frost protection.
