Does the engine crank over but no start? Is there an alarm system? Where was this column purchased from and is it the exact replacement? Thanks.

The 02 column mounted in a 98 is most likely related to the no start. Although the connectors may be ok and connect, the wire locations and routing to engine components are most likely not the same. Can you shed some light on this possibility? I don't have a diagram for both vehicles in my possession at the moment.

This problem happens because ignition keys must be programmed before using.
This procedure is obligatory, otherwise security failure still present and car never starts !!!

Yes, but the key switch has inside a transponder connected with the Engine Control Module (ECM). This transponder must be also programmed together with the instrument cluster and ECM !!!

If you are using the key and switch that was in replacement column, the resistance of the key pellet for your car is wrong. Provided you connected everything up then the easiest way would be to take your old key (out of old part) and the key from your replacement column to a Cadillac dealer. They can read the resistance of your old key and cut you a new key with the proper resistor. That should start your car.

Honda Accord 98 EX coupe - 3L V6 starting problem

I would take the vehicle to a different shop.
You can go to Autozone , They can scan the vehicle for free. There maybe a codes stored and auto zone can tell you what the code means. You can also check the price of ignition coils with them. The price the shop is asking is rediculous . I am guessing a coil should not be no more then 100.00 and labor time 1.5 hours with diagnosis time. I think you can get an estimate for repairs at Pep boy for a lot less. Good Luck .

The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.
