Jack the car up and put it on axle stands remove the bolt at bottom of shock, remove the nut at top of shock then remove from car, use spring compressor to compress coil spring then remove top nut and mounting and spring, re-fit parts removed to new shock in reverse order then re-fit to car

Need instructions on how to install rear air shocks on a 1965 Cheverolet truck

Reasonably easy to install. Remove the old shocks and replace them with the air shocks. Place the hose fittings where they won't run into anything. Attach the hoses and run them to the rear bumper. attach both lines to the "t" fitting supplied in the hose kit. find a hole in the underside of the rear bumper (or drill one) and mount the "t".Fill the shocks to around 40psi and check all your connections with soapy water to make sure they don't leak. Secure the lines to the chassis so they don't hang down and you are finished! One note. The fittings do not need to be super tight. the small "o" rings in the kit are pretty fat and usually seal pretty well hand tight. On a truck, generally you don't need to jack it up to do the job. If you do, take care not to raise it so far the wheels hang as the rear can drop when you disconnect the shocks.
It won't fall out but even a drop of several inches can hurt if your head is under there!!

1993 ford Escort wagon has some banging noise from rear of vehicle when driving over bumps on the road. It seems worse when weather is cold and car is not warmed up. There is only90000 miles on this car...

Hi,
you need to open the rear hatch and pull carpet away from where the top of the shocks are,I've seen four of these cars where the body rust away where the shocks are.and the shocks just come thru the back body, they had to be junked.

Its NOT difficult but you would need a SPRING compressor. This tool can be rented from an AUTO ZONE when you return this tool you will get you money back. You just have to compress spring and remove shock absorber and replace in the opposite. Good luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

1993 ford escort wagon struts or shocks? bottoms out rear clunk

That vehicle probably has rear shocks only but there is an easy way to tell a strut has a heavy coil surrounding the shock and is easily recognized. Hopefully it is shocks only - they are alot less expensive and easier to work on - Good Luck
