Jeep Wranlger starting problems

I have a 1990 Wrangler with the 2.5l engine. Last time I went to drive it it wouldn't start. There is power to the ignition radio turns on, fuel pump cycles, & power at the starter if I cross the leads it will start. What would be the nest place to look for a problem?

Make sure the starter relay is good and that there is both power and good ground where the relay plugs in. (pretty sure ground at the relay is a double black wire (two wires to same terminal) you need to remove the power distribution center and flip it over to get to the wires.

Thanks for all the input I took it in the other week. It was that the Key cylinder was out of alignment.

The Ignition switch is the likely culprit, other than that you have a starter relay and then the wiring. You already verified the starters good.

No fire i have changed cap and button ignition module and i am getting power to the coil

If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking, at the times when it won't start, and the relays are clicking and buzzing, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. ECU is likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Reasonably priced repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

1990 jeep wrangler motor has no compression

Take it back to the shop that did the engine overhaul. No compression at all? They did something very wrong. Does the distributor shaft and rotor turn when cranking the engine? Are you sure your compression tester is working and hasn't failed? Is it possible they got the timing for the crank and camshaft all wrong? Take it back to them and demand they fix it, if it truly has no compression. It will never start without compression.

2000 grand jeep cherokee limited 4.7 liter, v8, at first wouldn't start rplaced battery because dead and then replaced starter. ran ok for a couple days. last night started it and hard time with it...

Hi
Pop into to your local garage and have a diagnostic test carried out.
Listen to the advise given. It may save you lots of money, especially if you start the "guessing" game.
It does sound like a part may be blocked or failed though, but the sytem needs to be tested thoroughly first.
Good luck
