Question about 1997 Ford Econoline

How do I remove the dashboard from 2003 E250 Ford Econoline van? Heater fan switch works on high but not on low. Need to replace switch. I already replaced the blower resistor. How do I get behind the dashboard to gain access to the switch?

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the headlamp switch knob.
  3. Rotate the headlamps switch bezel counterclockwise and remove.
  4. Remove the instrument panel finish panel.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the control assembly.
  7. Disconnect the vacuum harness and electrical connectors.
  8. Remove the control assembly.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

The blower fan on my 2001 ford econoline e-250 has quit working just in time for sub-zero temperatures. It was working now and then since I bought the van 8 months ago. Where are the relays for the fan...

1 Open the hood, and remove the cover from the fuse block. Locate the fuse numbered "105,"and remove it with a fuse puller.

2 Install a replacement 40-amp fuse in slot "105," and reattach the fuse block cover. If the blower is still malfunctioning, you may need to replace the motor.

3 Open the passenger's side front door, and locate the blower underneath the right side of the dashboard. Remove the three screws securing it to the vehicle.

4 Remove the three screws securing the motor to the fan blower, and install a replacement motor.

5 Reinstall all of the screws, and close the door.

owner manual will tell you fuse layout. If you have only high speed, you have a bad resister. 4 wires.

Resistor —Heater Blower Motor Switch Removal
  1. Remove the battery (10655) ; refer to Section 414-01 .
  1. Remove the battery tray.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Remove the battery tray.
  1. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch resistor connector.
  1. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
    1. Remove the two screws.
    1. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor.

I have a 2000 E250. My heater selection switch on

ya just pry off the black plastic with a screwdriver. and then u will see the screws that need 2 come off

Save your self the time of removing the dash. Just remove the heater core and temp control door assembly. Install just the door assembly ,the rest of the case is the same as the old one.

u must remove the front bumpwer the grill, ac core, radiator and any lines or wiring in the way, IT DOESN'T COME OUT THE BOTTOM.

Heat fan is not working

un plug the blower motor, if you have 12volts or more at the plug, then its the motor.

check the blower if the resister is bad the fan usually has high,also you may want top check the fan relay
