Sorry, if this is a silly question, but is a new Fuel Filter installed automatically/come with a new Fuel Pump? Or do you have to buy a new Fuel Filter and attach to the new Fuel Pump before installin

Has the filter ever been changed? Need to know year and model of the truck. Fuel filters can be near the tank or under the hood. Filters are usually separate from the fuel pump.

Where is the fuel filter located and how do I change it ?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Your fuel filter is usually the on the same side as your gas cap. Go to the cap and look under the car. You should be able to see the gas lines. Follow the gas lines. Some will split off to the gas tank and the others will go toward the front of the car. You should be able to see your fuel filter on these lines. It almost looks like a small oil filter. Now, observe the filter and find the bolts. You need to remove both gas lines to the filter. You will have one in the front and one in the back. There will be a little gas coming out, so that is normal. Once you take off both gas lines, take off the bolt that holds the filter up. It may be two bolts. The filter should come out and you can replace it with the new one.

Car will not turn on discennected fuel filter no gas coming up, Can it be fuel pump??

If you have no gas coming to filter from pump, then it's possible the pump, if gas can't make it through the filter, the filter may be clogged.

Truck shuts off while driving

Well, if the truck is carburetored, the filter is located in the carb, where the fuel line connects. If its fuel injected, the filter is located under the truck, on the frame rail, between the tank and engine.

Starts but wont stay running

Check your gas filter. When you ran out of gas, you got any rust in your lines and filters. Change the inline filter and use an air compressor and blow the line TOWARDS THE TANK. Take the gas cap off first. There is also a filter in your tank.By blowing the line you may unstop that filter.
