here is a short version of leak repair procedure we follow

    Instructions

    1. Step 1
If there is a clear, slippery liquid under the seat, check your brake-fluid levels to find out which reservoir is leaking. The leak indicates that brake fluid is spilling from either the brake master cylinder or the clutch master cylinder.

    2. Step 2
If a stick, green, sweet-smelling fluid is leaking under the passenger's feet, check the heater core or heater hose for a leak. This is a coolant leak of the cooling system.

    3. Step 3
If the inside of the car smells of exhaust, look for a broken tailpipe or a worn or improperly seated rubber seal around the hatchback. This smell means there is likely a leak in the exhaust system.

    4. Step 4
To find a rain leak, close the doors and windows tightly on a dry day and have someone hose down the car while you sit inside and look for signs of water entering. It may take a while, but it's the best way to find rain leak.

    5. Step 5
If there's water under the dashboard when it's not raining, see if water is collecting in the air conditioner duct. Sometimes the drain tube is clogged with debris causing the duct to drip.

I realize the leak is most likely not coolant so ignore that part. do check the AC drain under the car on the passenger side firewall

A cousin of mine had a similar problem, what he did was to use a garden hose and "watering" the car. In this way was able to identify exactly where water was entering. Detected and managed to seal the leak. Need someone to help with the water hose so you can be located under the dashboard and see the details of this problem.

If there is a drain hose of the vehicle, it could be some "cut" or hole in the bodywork.

Tell us news.

Hi,
On the passenger side, below the heater motor, you will find a rubber water drain hose. The drain is supposed to keep water from building up in the HVAC unit then leaking into the vehicle.
Generally over time, leaves, pine needles and other debris will plug the drain hose allowing the water to back-up in the HVAC unit and end up in the passenger compartment.
You may be able to get to it under the hood or have to crawl under the car to clean it.
Chances are you will find it plugged and causing your leak.

Most Grand Prixs the overflow is located on the passenger side. However on the drivers side is the upper radiator return hose, thermostat, temperature sensor. If the leak is close to the engine it could be one of those items, if it is close to the radiator itself it could be a clamp or hose or the radiator itself. If you cannot find the leak, or if the repair is beond your expertice consult a professional. If the problem continues without repair serious engine damage could result if the engine badly overheats.

There are a couple of questions that come to mind as you did not provide much information about the leak. For example what is the color of the oil? Normally the power steering oil will be red in color. You can match it with the oil from power steering oil reservoir. It’s easy to locate power steering pump. This is actually driven by drive belts. So look around it and check for leaks. Sometimes you might not find leaks, in such cases please follow the hoses to see if you can find leaks. You can also get underneath the car try to trace the leak.

Thanks for contacting Fixya and please accept the solution if it has helped you.

Car heats up the steam is on the drivers side

Your heater core is probably on the drivers side. It may be leaking or one or both of the hoses connected to it are leaking.. Is there water and or antifreeze leaking on the drivers side floor. The heater core is a small radiator through which air from the blower passes to warm the car when it is cold. they are not too expensive for the part, they can be hard to replace.

Leak under car on driver side maybe waterpump

If the fluid is a bright green or yellow colour, it is coolant fluid. Check the water pump, there should be a seal leak drain hole under it, look for signs of a leak. If there is a green/yellow track leading from below the water pump. you need to have the water pump replaced. A leak from the engine would be dark brown to black an a transmission leak would be red tp very dark red. Coolant would tend to dry up while oils spills do not. The water pump is located on the side of the engine where the belts are. I do not know if your car is left or right hand drive.

Oil fluid leak on left side of car-2000 buick lasabre

If its on the drivers side of the car close to the front check the transmission oil cooler lines. Especially if the fluid is redish in color. You will see them if you look up under the vehicle on the drivers side. There will be to black hoses running between the transmission and the radiator. If they are wet/dripping you found the leak.

The car is leaking fluid on the drivers side. Also

if the fluid has a strong smell then its likely brake fluid .. that would be a bad master cycilnder ... if the fluid smells like antifreeze then thats a leaking heater core ... if its just water then look foor a clogged drain hose on the ventalation air intake chamber ... the brake fluid will be oily and a strong smell .. if thats the problem then it is not safe to drive until that is fixed .. you could partially or completely lose braking ... .
