2003 dodge stratus heater fan does not blow . settings 1 & 2 then settings 3 & 4 stopped working. could the problem be a fuse one?

The car most likely has a blower motor resistor, if it is like my 2004 dodge dakota, you're lucky, when mine quit it was very cold and the first portion of the resistor burned out, taking out all four fan speeds. Enough about me, lets get to your problem. the blower motor resistor is located inside the HVAC duct, (heating, ventalation, and cooling) on the passenger side footwell area. it is accessed from inside the passenger compartment. It has multiple resistor circuts. thats why you lost the two lower speeds and then the two faster speeds. You can test it with a multi meter to see if it is open. it looks like this when removed. fb36770.jpg
They are about 33.00 from rockauto.com. When you find the conector on the duct that is conected to this resistor block, remove the conector with a small screwdriver, you have to find the lock tab and gently lift it up and pull on the conector to remove the conector. remove one screw and it will come out. most times you can tell if they are bad by looking at them. if you cant test it have someone you know that can do it. I am 99% positive that that is your problem. unless the conector came loose. Pleas let us know if this was helpful as i strive to improve helping others on a daily basis. Good Luck! and You'll be warm again soon.getimage.jpggetimage.php.jpg
