FUEL FILTER Removal

1.) Release fuel pressure.
2.) Raise and support vehicle.
3.) Before removal, clean fuel filter connections with a spray type engine cleaner, such as GM X-30A. DO NOT use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). Solvents containing MEK may damage fuel system components.
4.) Disconnect fuel filter inlet and outlet disconnect fittings.

4a.) Cap fuel lines to prevent contamination.
5.) Remove fuel filter bracket retaining bolt.
6.) Slide fuel filter from fuel filter bracket.
7.) Drain any remaining fuel into an approved container. 8.) Inspect fuel line "O" rings for cuts, nicks, swelling or distortion. Replace "O" rings as necessary.

I have a 2002 chevy tahoe changed fuel pump and filter. it still wont start when you turn the key over it reads empty but we put 6 gallons of gas in it what could be wrong?

Check the fuel pump relay or the fuses. Could also be a filter near the injection rail. You might have a fuel cut off swithc. I don't know where it would be, but your owners manual would tell you. Good luck anyways.

2002 Chevy Tahoe sputters and stalls out while driving.....

Fuel filter. Timing/timing chain. Idle air control valve. Idle sensor. Vacuum leak. Probably one of the above, but the filter is cheapest place to start. Change your air filter too, if you haven't for a while.

Fuel filter wont come off.

usually there is a special tool to remove those clips... if you live in the states i believe autozone will rent/loan you the tool.... if in canada you can rent/borrow the tool from canadian tire. if you cut the clasps i doubt you will be further ahead as you would need the tool to install the new filter.

How to replace the fuel injectors on a 2002 Tahoe?

To Install:
  1. Lubricate the NEW fuel injector O-rings with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the O-rings on the fuel injector.
  3. Install a NEW retainer clip on the fuel injector.
  4. Install the fuel injector in the injector socket with the electrical connector facing outward. The retainer clip locks onto a flange at the fuel rail injector socket.
  5. Install the fuel rail.
NOTE: Use care in removing the fuel injectors in order to prevent damage to the electrical connector pins on the injector and to prevent damage to the nozzle. Service the fuel injector as a complete assembly only. The fuel injector is an electrical component. DO NOT immerse the fuel injector in any type of cleaner.
