you need to put an oil pressure gauge on it and see what happens.what you will find is that the sender unit is no good.

I don't have a owners maual either but I beleive its 10 liters.Use 15w40 ams oil with ams oil filter.7500-10000 miles for filter changes and 20000 miles between oil changes

it is common for the sensor to go bad and make it look like you have no pressure if you had no oil pressure it would make some noise

It takes 10 quarts, but i would check the dip stick after 9, remember to add oil to the oil filter too

2001 dodge 2500 v10 has low idle


On my 06 v10 there is a idle adjustment screw at the linkage on the throttle body.
clean air filter
clean sensor in the air intake ram
try some 93 octane

Have your mechanic check the oil pressure with a pressure guage. A oil pressure sensor is the most possible cause, but please make sure of proper oil pressure to avoid engine damage.
