Well, dealership is the first...but they like to charge an arm and a leg....next place would be ebay...pretty good deals...shipping will get you though sometimes.

Craigslist would be a good bet...although it is not new, it will be very cheap and in most cases, you would have to "pull" the item.

Last place would be a pull-a-part junkyard. Also cheap but again, you would have to remove the item.

I would start with craigslist though...look under auto parts and then type in the search block TAURUS.

Line loose from 2000 ford taurus transmission thats goes to radiator

Those other guys are out of line and wrong.
Fellas if you just guessing stay out of it.
Taurus has "o" ring fittings with nylon retainers and are free to move. If its not leaking dont worry about it.

Will a transmission #ax4s from 1988 ford windstar fit a 200 windstar with transmission # ax4s

I dont think that will work ....1988 was aod and aode trans

The AXOD-E was renamed AX4S in 1993. In addition to the name change, improvements in the lubrication of the gearset and capacity upgrades were made. A centrifugal piston assembly was implemented in the intermediate clutch position to improve 1st-2nd and 2nd-1st shift quality and an increase in the clutch's durability was made on some models. High energy friction materials were also introduced. A new twin piston torque converter clutch (TCC) was introduced with the AX4S and the AX4N on some models. The transaxle pan on this model will sometimes read "AXOD Metric" since it's based on the AXOD transaxle. The data plate code for this transmission is "L."
Applications:
The Ford AX4S automatic transmission is a four-speed electronic overdrive transmission used in 1995 to 2000 Ford Windstar minivan. The transmission is also used in 1991 to 2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable, and 1993 to 1995 Ford Taurus SHO models. The AX4S is a second-generation version of the AXOD and AXOD-E transmissions used in 1986 to 1991 Ford Taurus.

ATF leaking from Cooling line connectors at Transmission

Please trace the leakage before you are sure of what to replace. But I bet you will have to replace the entire hoses that distribute the ATF in case of rust or expirt.

Good luck.

rate this please.

Transmission coolant line leaking on the transmission side.

Is the line before and after the connector steel? If you can cut the leaking section out w/ a hack saw, u can slip a section of gas line over the trans cooling line, and put a clamp on both ends, quick cheap fix that will last a long time.
