Question about 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

1 Answer

When the battery was unplugged from the car and then reconnected, the passenger side windows will not roll up or down on 2005 pt, I was told there is a reset button but do not know where. It cost a lot when the dealership reset it last time.

If the passenger windows work from the drivers side switch then the anti trap window mechanism need recalibrating.you need to hold the passenger switch on the drivers door switch pack down till it gets to the bottom and then hold the switch down for ten seconds then send it up when it gets to the top hold the switch in the up position for ten seconds repeat this for all other windows.if this fails try disconnecting your battery again.

How to reset computer for my 2005 pt cruiser convertable. I put a new battery and now passenger side windows don't go down. Please help

Changing a battery should not affect the power window. The computer will be reset when the battery is disconnected. Sounds like a coincidence. Try banging on the door while operating the window switch to see if it will work again. If not, the door will have to be disassembeled for testing/inspection

New switch for the passenger side. The drivers side switch may be wired through the passengers side switch witch will make it not work if the passengers side switch is bad. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Need to get a wiring diagram. Buy a book and follow the wiring schematic. It should help you out majorly. Can't really work on electrical issues without one.

Just had battery replaced and now right side windows won't roll down.

Remove the battery negative cable for 5 minutes to reset the body control module and see if that corrects the problem. This can be a coincidence you know.

Window on passenger side will not roll up

if you have to you can remove the door panel and unplug the switch. take two wires and connect one to positive and one to negative. one wire to one side of plug and the other wire to the other side of plug. make sure you are connected to the window motor side of the wires, and not the switch side. when doing this one way will roll the window down and you can reverse the wires opposite of the way you just used and it will move the window in the other direction. if the window doesnt move it means the motor is bad. if it does move it means that the switch is bad.
