The code is printed on a label behind your new instrument cluster. Since your instrument cluster is new and immobilizer control module is housed in it, it needs to shake hands with your existing ECU to be recognized. A VAG 1551/1552 scan tool or equivalent (ROSS-Tech) PC base application is needed in order to recognize the new hardware. All of your existing keys will be needed as well so it could be matched with the new code from your instrument cluster. As of now a warning indicator with a key icon is showing due to non recognition thus activating the anti-theft feature of your vehicle. Remember there is a procedure to do this right so click on ROSS-Tech for this information. You can buy the program from them too if you have a non Apple lap top and discover how easy it is working on your car. If you want the VAG 1552 i have a golf mk 4 2.0 gti. i fitted a new - 384f7c3.jpgit's going to cost you $1200 (that's how much I paid in 2000 for mine). You can get it and all official VW tools from Zelenda Tools.

The speedo instrument panel needs coding to vehicle using 5051 vw diagnostic equipment, without this your immoboliser will not allow you to start the car.

Have the computer scanned. If you have a service engine or emissions light on then a service code has been stored in the computer and only a scan will tell you what the problem is.

Hi Binny, The oil pressure sender unit should be close to the oi filter housing. If memory serves if should be in front of the engine (with you looking into the engine compartment from the front of the car. Regards John

Those components are probably part of a new lock assembly. Maybe locate a used lock to take those pieces from.

turbo is malfunctioning the turbo waste gate is not working take it to a shop right away, preferablly tow it so as not to damage the engine, if the exhaust gas's gets near the turbine bearings you will burn up the engine and the turbo cna explode like a hand granade and destrou your enging.

Spring lowering

Hi

You answered the question yourself there! You buy a set of lowering springs which suit your needs and fit them in place of the old springs.

I have known people actually remove the old springs and then cut them down to the required height before refitting them again, but I personally wouldn't recommend this practice unless you can get it perfect, because the springs not only have to be the same height, they also have to sit snuggly in their seats once they're refitted.

Very best regards

Geordie
