Question about Peugeot Liberte

1 Answer

I have just fitted a secondhand 306 turbo deisel engine into my 306 as the old engine blew up. This new engine was slightly different. The problem i'm having is that the injection pump is slighty different and there is a redundant plug which I think is some sort of solonoid fuel cut off. I can't get fuel from the pump to the injectors because something is stopping the flow. Do I have to refit the old pump which is a right pain or can I by-pass this cut off valve in some way?

Hello. Questions: 1) Is the solonoid that you are referring to on the fuel bar, or the fuel line? Usea test light to determine whether there is power to it. If there IS power, the solonoid is cutting off the fuel. If there is no power to it, provide power to it and see if the fuel is getting to the fuel bar. 2) Can you hear the fuel pump running? 3) What was the difference between the old engine and the replacement? Is it the year model, or something else?

How to solve the problem when my secondhand nissan frontier engine doesn't fit to the old gear box

probably the best way to solve the problem is to fit new engine and gear box as a unit and give the old box a miss. If you cannot do that check around for a speed shop that sells adaptor plates or if you have a good engineering shop handy have an adaptor plate made

A new turbo charger is about $340, but you can buy the bearings and seals and rebuilt if yourself for about $100

It is not hard, and it does not take long to do.

I normally do not bother with synthetic, but with a turbo charger, it might be worth it. What really seems to ruin turbo chargers the most is not letting them cool off before parking.
Once you turn off the engine, there is no longer any cooling, so the build up heat will burn up the oil and seals.
Run the engine for at least 5 minutes below turbo levels, before shutting down the engine.

sorry without a turbo it will feel like its pulling a load ,but as for being extra slow ??? the main cause of this is a either a low transfer pressure in the injector pump or the injectors are dribbling ,best advice here is to take it to bosch injection specialist and ask them to check the injection pressures .And get some sort of price as this work is very expensive ,if i have a injector overhauled iam am looking at around 150 euros per injector and a pump at about 600 euros and this is if i dismantle them

Peugeot 306 turbo deisel auto diagnostic light coming on. conditions frdidnt know if the freezing conditions could cause

Check that engine oil is atleast a grade of 10W40. If temperature is below 0°C then Standard engine oil mostly a cause of bad circulation.
To find out if its because of engine oil, drive the car (find out an empty motorway) 60MPH for at least 15-20 minute; come back home; turn the engine off: wait 2 minutes and then start again. if still there is check engine light, then the problem is something else.

LACK OF POWER

Does it smoke? Could possibly be sticking EGR valve. Remove and clean, or blank off and try running without it. If it runs better, this is your problem.

Ford focus 1.8 turbo deisel 1999.

do not understand you what you mean. assuming your car was ok before you changed f/filter you need to bleed the fuel system of air. esiest to do would be to loosen fuel line at the injectors and have assistant crank the engine while you observe for clear fuel leak without any air bubbles from fuel line.tighten fuel lines and start engine. might have to repeat a few times. good luck.
