Heater steams up all glass on inside of car

Mostly when raining, going through a car wash, or on a very slushy winter day, the heater will not unfog windshield even enough to see. the smell is terrible and i even noticed a little mist spraying from heating vents onto windshild. if left on cold air the fogging almost comes to a complete stop but still does not defog the rest. a towel is kept handy for forward vision when needed.. anyone ive talked to has no idea what the problem could be.. hoping someone here could help me out

Why must I run the defroster so much?

this could be two items that i can think of
1st could be a stopped up cabin air filter , a low air flow would be felt out the vents on blower high setting

2nd sometimes a small hole develops in your heater core allowing a tiny bit of your cars coolant to flow into heat chamber , this gets evaporated by air flow thru heat box and recondenses back inside car , telltale signs are stuffy smell inside car and slight drip of coolant on ground under car as problem persists

heater core replacment is needed to fix this problem

Problem with hazy windshield for Kia Sephia

Your question is a little vague. Do you mean that you are getting steam on the inside of the windshield? If this is what you mean, you need to replace your heater core. Otherwise, the only advice I can give you is to use glass cleaner to wash your windshield.

Steam coming out oe heater vent

Sometimes on really hot and humid days, the AC will make a steam like vapor out of your vents and/or defrosters, but most often this is caused by a heater core leak.

2009 Mazda 3 found water puddled under floor mat on drivers side, where is it coming from?

Could be condensation from the air conditioner. This normally drains out a tube near the glove box, onto the ground. If this drain tube comes off or is clogged, the water will drain into the interior of the car instead.
Could also be a leak around the windshield, door, or sunroof.
When do you notice it most? Warm humid days, or after a rain or car wash?

I have an unseen leak soaking front passenger floor. When I took up the carpet the insulation under it was completely saturated.

Either your heater core is leaking, is the fluid sweet smelling and slimy? Or the condensation drain from your air conditioner is plugged causing the condensation to drain inside as opposed to outside. Or the glass seal is bad and rain water is coming inside from around the windshield. Heater core is going to need a repair guy, condensation drain can usually be fixed in about 5 minutes at any shop with a lift, glass leak you are going to need an auto glass shop's help.

How can I thaw frozen heater coil hoses?

If your heater core hoses are frozen you should immediately drain the coolant out of your radiator and engine and refill it with the proper mixture. Your lucky if your heater core lines are the only thing that froze, it could have popped a freeze plug or two out of the block. You could use a hair dryer or heat gun if you need to unfreeze it quickly.

My 1999 Malibu has had ice on the inside windows and windshield during these freezing temps. before the really cold weather they steamed up on the inside? This did not happen last winter?

This could be caused by a leak in your heater core,,do you notice the steaming up more on the passenger side,,then it will most likely be the heater core which is leaking coolant into the car.

Warm air blower

Steam coming through the air vents indicates a leak in heater core. The heater core is like a small radiator that is used to heat the inside of your car in the winter time. The blower, blows air through the heater core and into the inside of the vehicle. The steam you are seeing is the hot coolant leaking from the core.
