Need to replace brakes on 2000 GMC Safari. does it have disc brakes all around or drum rakse in rear?

Disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. Make sure that you repack the front bearing's with wheel grease before finishing the job.If the front rotors and or the rear drums have a rough brake pad surface, get them resurfaced before installing new brake pads or brake shoes in the rear. you can go online or your public library for complete instructions on how to replace the brakes on that vehicle.

How do you put front brake pads on cadillac sedan deville 1996

Front brakes on all modern cars are disc brakes. The front brakes generally provide 80% of the stopping power, and so tend to wear faster than the rear. Replacing them - pads, rotors and calipers - is quite simple once you understand the process, and can save you a great deal of money. These instructions will include a full front brake replacement. Also, having a service manual for your vehicle will save your sanity, as well as time and money. If you only need pads, or pads and rotors, but not calipers, skip the steps for replacing calipers. Repeat the steps below for each side of the car as necessary.

It's not that hard to replace, but there are some tools that your going to have to buy. If there is a Auto Zone in you're area, you can buy the brake pads and may be a new brake rotor if they look to worn out. The rotors are not that expensive any more. They also have the right tools to buy or you can use there tool loner program to get the job done and they have the step by step instructions to replacing the break pads. If you like you can log on to AutoZone.com and look up the instructions to replacing the brake pads on your car. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Instructions for replacing the front brake pads-2005 Hyundai Tucs

Jack the front of the car up, and make sure it is securely supported. Remove the wheel, remove the 2 guide bolts (located on the back of the caliper), and remove the caliper, hanging it by a coat hanger or wire to keep pressure off the brake line. Remove the pads and shims. Clean rotor with brake parts cleaner, and install new pads/shims. Repeat on other isde. Check with the parts store to see whether or not you need to use anti-squeak compound for your specific brake pads. Once you install them, you will need to bed the brakes to get the most use out of them. Accelerate to 30mph, then hard brake to zero (5-10 times), then repeat but to 60mph and hard brake to zero. Do this a couple times, and you will get very long life out of your brakes.
