To fix it that it can be driven, take a utility knife and cut the bag away. To fix it, unhook the battery cable and wait 30 minutes (just to be safe)and replace the airbag unit with a new one or one from a junkyard (just a few bolts from the back of the steering wheel)

The air bag had been deployed and not replaced in my 98 mustang 3.8 v6 the air bag light flashes. will this make a difference in the way it runs

No your mustang will run as before
If the flashing light bothers you get the control unit to ignore it by disabling the airbags sensors

My 2004 buick ranier says service air bags the scan says driversside deployment sensor openwhat does this mean and is it real expensive to fix

It means that the ECM thinks the air bag has deployed. Your air bags will not protect you in a crash until this is fixed. I'm not sure if the deployment sensor has a dedicated line on the clockspring ribbon or not. The reason is, that the clockspring is the usual suspect for air bag codes. Since the deployment sensor is not accessible, I would have a professional look at it. Alternatively, some black tape over the air bag light and drive carefully.

Airbag fuse

It could be the fuse but is more than likely a fault with some other part of the system. You'll need to scan the system and se wha the fault codes are. When the airbag light is on it won't deploy in an accident so be sure to get it checked asap.

I want to replace the air bag cover on a 2008 mustang

whoa !!!! You are playing with a bomb. Disconnect the negative battery cable before trying anything. Then just remove the screws from the rear of the steer wheel that holds it on and carefully disconnect the wires and switch it out. Careful with power on this thing can deploy. The air bag is usually built in to the bag and whole assembly is replaced.

Says service air bag what does this mean? does this mean the air bag will not work if hit or will it explode on its own?

The car has to be scanned to retrieve the codes to diagnose it....
but the lamp means the system is inoperative until the problem is fixed...(it will not deploy) not to worry, it will not deploy while driving....but on the flipside it will not deploy if you are involved in an accident either......some people prefer them inoperative, some people like the safety of them...choice is yours

Fuse for AIr Bags

air bags are not fused. The fuse is a link that blows on the circuit board of the airbag diagnostic monitor whenever the system is deployed in an accident, so to replace the fuse u replace the airbag monitor module.

1998 ford mustang air bag module

ECMs for the airbags are a one time use item. There in no way (that I know of) to clear them if a bag deploys. If there was not any codes before you took it out you should be fine.

Replacing air bags for my 2000 mustang

I am going to suggest that you take it to your Ford dealer for diagnosis and or repair. You don't even want to mess with the air bag system if not qualified. If you ground something out , or cause some static electricity to arc you can deploy the air bags. This would be a very expensive mistake. Also when they deploy they do so with extreme force and can hurt you since you would not be in the position you would normally be in when seated and driving. I would hate to see you get hurt trying to save a few bucks and wind up in the hospital at the same time.
