That model accord doesnt use a scanner to access the abs system, there is a check connector on the pass side under dash that has to be jumped out and the light on the dash will flash the code. I would find another shop that is familiar with your system.

Abs light stays on also speedo stops working

Hi, I am new to the website. I am an automotive technitian. If the ABS light is on ,and the speedo wont work, your vehicle speed sensor (vss) is likely the cause! The ABS system depends on knowing the individual wheel speed and the overall vehicle speed in order to properly operate. The fact that your speedo also is out tells me that either the sensor is bad or there is a wiring problem. The ABS light will stay on and will probably be in "limp mode" until the problem is solved.....if you live in a snowy or icy place be careful because it probably wont work! If I am right, even a simple code scanner like an auto parts store has for free use will show a vss code since it will affect other systems in the car such as shifting points and fuel trim. I have no history on your car...and dont even know the type of car it is so I hope this has been helpful!!

How do you turn off the warning lights ABS and the service traction system and the traction off light.. I have replaced hubs brakes sensors on all 4 wheels everything is brand new . i just need to know how...

the only way to reset this ABS light is with an OBDII diagnostic tool. You can buy one for around $25-$200 or any technitian would be able to reset it for you and probably not even charge for that. If it come back on after reset, that indicates there is a problem somewhere with the ABS system and it will give a code.
if this was helpful please give it thumbs up to help others.
Good luck

Hey..my abs and brake lights were on, i changed the module and the brake light went off and now the abs is still on...what can i do to turn the abs light off?

Best is to get it scan, to see wich code is reported, and check the following system with the code reported from the ABS Module ! To turn it off normally clear the code, if the light reappear there's something wrong in the system like a defective sensor, broken wire, ect.. !

Abs light

go to your nearest autozone (they will read your codes for free) or your nearest trusted technitian, and have your ABS codes read, most likeley one or more of your wheel speed sensors is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. note. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP. when wheel speed sensors fail that means they could be sending the wrong speed rating on each tire, causing the computer to think the car is skidding and trying to adjust, it will brake only a couple of tires to readjust the car, could send you veering off course. for your sake i wouldnt sit on this problem for long.
Hope this helps!

The traction control light as well as the parking light as well as the abs light comes on when i start my car. don't know whats wrong

you have a bad speed sensor in one of the hub assy buying the hub and bearing is almost cheaper then buying the sensor and you get the sensor with it. take the car to a reputible shop that can run an on board diagnostic on the car to find wich sensor it is all they have to do is plug it in and take it for a little ride

My 1999 Volvo S80 has problems with speedo, abs, engine light coming on intermittently (speedo goes out along with the odometer). what to do

the check engine light is probably related to the abs light. have the car scanned to find out wich sensor is bad. it's probably one of the front wheel speed sensors going bad or the abs module is going bad

Abs light is on and want to find out why is this a wheel sencer or could it be the abs pump this also turns off my allwheel drive

the abs light is tripped by any computer-recognized problem within the abs system. a wheel sensor tends to be the most common cause of an abs light. while the light is on, the standard brakes function normally but the abs system is completely bypassed. the best way to diagnose this is to plug the vehicle into a code scanner. any decent shop can perform this service, or you can purchase a scanner at an auto parts store or online. if you do go that route, ensure that the scanner you purchase specifically can interpret abs codes

Abs trac control light goes on at start up then off

It sounds like an ABS sensor or some other sensor going out. IF it's the main computer for the traction/handling system that's big $$$$$ like $1300+ I think.
This problem frequently starts out as occasional, goes to frequent, and then full time.  It usually relates to the ABS/TC assembly on the frame in front of the engine.
It is made of two parts, the EBTCM (the electronic part) wich is bolted to the mechanical half, the BPMV (Brake pressure modulating valve.) Sometimes the electronic grounds for this assembly get corroded or loose. Bad connectors for the ABS speed sensors at each wheel hub can also go bad.

EBTCM = Electronic Brake Traction Control Module
Good luck and hope this helps.
