Question about 1995 Dodge Intrepid

1 Answer

My turn signals and emergency service lights have stopped working. I replaced the combination switch but still nothing. Is there a fuse somewhere I could be missing that is not working?

After changing the fuses AND purchasing and installing a NEW combination switch, there was another switch, the hazard/turn signal switch, under the dashboard that was the problem.

Dodge dealer wanted to charge $460.00! and they said that it might fix the problem. For the cost of the parts (approx $80), a trip to the library, and 3hours, it was completed.

Ok i don't know about much about cars but i know

sounds like the signal switch relay fuse. turn your signal on and check your fuse boxes... inside the car and under the hood. it will look like a little square box inside your fuse box next to your other fuses. with your signal on, you should be able to locate the relay because it will be making a clicking noise. pull it straight out and go get another one. hope this helps.

1995 GMC Jimmy brake lights not working

Brake lights run through the hazzard switch. There are known problems with this, and the multifunction switch. You may need to buy a new hazzard switch and OR the multifunction switch. Before you do that, check the pigtail that goes into the brake switch up by the fender, make sure it's not shorting out up there. Happened to me!

Turn on the car then click the signal light and nothing!!! no tic to light nothing could it be the signal light switch or a fuse?? please help!!

Try the flasher unit first, checking it costs nothing. Turn on your emergency flashers and if they work, get your owners manual and find the fuse panel locations. Inside the manual or the panel cover there will be a legend as to what is what. You will have two flasher units, one for turn signals and the other emergency flashers. They are the same units so just switch them, if your turn signals now work, but your flashers don't, then you have a bad flasher unit. Go buy another at any auto parts store and put it in the correct socket, you rarely use the emergency flashers so you want your new one in the turn signal circuit.

If that does not do it then you may have a broken switch which requires pulling the steering wheel off to fix. That is not an owner service thing. One bad light bulb is not going to knock them all out.

1997 Chevy Tahoe both turn signals stopped working

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

Where can I find a fuse diagram?

The emergency flasher switch contains the relay for the turn signals as well. I work for an Audi dealer. This has been the problem since day one. If both signals don't work, it's the relay. You'll need to buy a new emergency flasher switch. Head to a dealer. They will know exactly what it is. It's not a very expensive part either.

No turn or emergency signals.

hi there

your flasher unit may have stopped working

this is a unit that makes the light blink on and off
if it stops working then you will have no lights
the best thing to do is have it replaced
the unit is normal behind the lower dash on the left hand side of stearing wheel
have a look for it. then take the unit to a car shop and they should be able to help you

hopes this helps
