Question about 1989 Jeep Cherokee

1 Answer

I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee that as of a few days ago has been jerking and bucking upon acceleration. When I get into higher mph (35-45mph, etc) it smooths out and is fine. Idling is smooth and rpms are consistent. Has never overheated and a new fuel pump was installed in the Summer of 2009. Any guesses?

Did you ever give the car a tune up?? if the check engine light is on have the codes pulled at autozone or advance its free and post the codes here. Then we can have somewhere to start.
It ccould be any number of things by the year of your car it could be a catalytic converter, but that is assuming. have the codes pulled.

Transmission Slight Jerking When Slowing & Accelerating

Have you changed the trasmission fluid and filter in your jeep lately, if not do so and that just might stop the jerking in your jeep, and if that does not do the trick you will need to have your trasmission checked out by a trasmission shop.
