Question about 1995 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Random surges interrupt electrical system. When stopped, car stalls immediately and all warning lights come on. While driving, car hesitates and goes through an extremely fast restart with check engine light coming on briefly and check oil status light comes on for about two seconds (like a normal start up). Is this a ground issue or maybe a crank angle sensor problem?

The ignition switch itself,or the ignition relay is bad.the ignition relay is in the fuse box under the hood.swap it with another relay with the same number.another thing you could do is run 12v from the battery to the pin that is activated by the relay when it is turned on.This will power up the cluster and if the car stays running fine, the ignition switch or the wiring from it to the relay is bad.The crank sensor failure will set off a check engine light as the pcm will detect a variation in engine rpm and set a p300 random misfire code,or the code for the crank sensor.

MAZDA 626 ENGINE RANDOM PAUSING/STALLING

The cooling system?? That would be my last guess, right after the spare tire. Sounds like an electrical issue. Quite often remote starters, especially those not installed at the factory, can cause these problems. Is there a "check engine" code?

My f-250 99 v 10th sputters when I accelerate sometimes stalls why?

it could be just about anything. first start by checking plugs, wires, and coil.Engine hesitation, which is normally most apparent during acceleration, is a condition that often results from either abnormal fuel flow to an engine or abnormal electrical conduction to a vehicle's spark plugs. Bad spark plug wires, whether they degrade internally or develop cracks and breaks in their outer coverings that cause electrical interference, can cause an engine to hesitate. Engine Surging, Engine surging is a common symptom of bad spark plug wires, especially if the wires have cracks or breaks in their outside insulation, heres the symtoms for a bad fuel filter. Engine Hesitation, Engine Stalling, Rough Engine Idle, Reduced Engine Power. if really plugged it will stop fuel flow and car will not start. just give it a good tuneup, and go from there! good-day!

When i brake my warning lights com on my gagues die and my radio goes off

You problem could be caused by a short in your brake light switch. The brake light switch is located on the back or side of the brake pedal arm and could be shorting and sending surges through the electrical system. This is more serious than it sounds and you should consult your mechanic immediately.

My 97 jimmy sometimes dies while driving and idling. no lights come on, fuel pump is working, is not overheating. once it dies, it starts up again immediately.

Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
