Question about 2002 Nissan Sentra
My friend just lost her job,so she asked if i could look at her car. Her dad determined the alternator was bad, so we ordered an alternator and i replaced it. Her sentra ran ok, but like two days later the car would die when coming to a stop but only intermittently. So I took her sentra to Advanced auto parts and they checked the battery and the alternator and determined that they both are functioning properly, so im not sure what else to try. My friend said she has to hit the brake a press on the gas to keep it from stalling sometimes, she also said after it stalls that it start back up immediatly. I dont know if could be the fuel filter or O2 sensor, any help would be great.
Its possible that the ECM is at fault. I listen replaced several on the Sentras. As for the
MAF sensor, simply replacing it without doing a volume air/idle learn
proceedure will only cause more problems. The dealership should have
done this for you when they installed the new ECM. Also some models with
certain VIN numbers had there ECM's reprogrammed.
Idle the car and pull on the wiring harness in front of the battery and see if there is a change in how the engine runs. If there is a change than there is a wiring problem.
You can look up the codes yourself on the knoweledge base tab go to service manuals and it is under ECM.. anyway the 0100 code is for a MAF sensor. the other 2 codes are for EVAP systems. The MAF sensor would casue your symptoms. the EVAP ones are not critical. you can get a new MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor and it should cure your ills. Autozone, Advance Auto or a similar store shouold have them.
