Question about 2002 Nissan Sentra

Sentra stalls intermittently after replacing alternator

My friend just lost her job,so she asked if i could look at her car. Her dad determined the alternator was bad, so we ordered an alternator and i replaced it. Her sentra ran ok, but like two days later the car would die when coming to a stop but only intermittently. So I took her sentra to Advanced auto parts and they checked the battery and the alternator and determined that they both are functioning properly, so im not sure what else to try. My friend said she has to hit the brake a press on the gas to keep it from stalling sometimes, she also said after it stalls that it start back up immediatly. I dont know if could be the fuel filter or O2 sensor, any help would be great.

Its possible that the ECM is at fault. I listen replaced several on the Sentras. As for the MAF sensor, simply replacing it without doing a volume air/idle learn proceedure will only cause more problems. The dealership should have done this for you when they installed the new ECM. Also some models with certain VIN numbers had there ECM's reprogrammed.

Idle the car and pull on the wiring harness in front of the battery and see if there is a change in how the engine runs. If there is a change than there is a wiring problem.

You can look up the codes yourself on the knoweledge base tab go to service manuals and it is under ECM.. anyway the 0100 code is for a MAF sensor. the other 2 codes are for EVAP systems. The MAF sensor would casue your symptoms. the EVAP ones are not critical. you can get a new MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor and it should cure your ills. Autozone, Advance Auto or a similar store shouold have them.

Hope helped.

Why does 2006 nissan sentra spec stalls while driving?

That isn't really much to go on, but if your timing is bad that could cause issues so I'd take it into the shop for a check-up. Also check your battery and alternator, mine kept stalling at times and the alternator died shortly thereafter. Replacing that seems to have fixed it.

2000 honda accord SE stalls randomly

Take your Accord to a competent mechanic and have it diagnosed for stored DTC data which will provide guidance for locating probable trouble causes that can be checked. This is a more practical alternative to replacing parts at random.

I need a belt diagram for a serpentine belt on a 1996 sentra

there should be a diagram of the belt routing on the car under the hood top of radiator. If not get a manual it will show you how the belt routes and how to remove and install the alt. otherwise ask your parts store to look up the job and print the directions for you

Charge warning light is on manual states it could be generator belt. How much would this cost to repair?

it's a cheap job and easy to do, however why don't you check it before getting it fixed? if you don't know how ask a friend or neighbor, there are other reasons that can cause no charging, alternator or the alternator connections including the earth lead that is connected to the alternator to an earth point,

2003 Cuts off when hot, will not start untill cool

My 2003 nissan sentra would get hot and stall out even in middle of highway doing 70 mph. The guages would go up and down. Would not start up all the time after stalling. had to cool down first. Nissan said it was head gasket, and wanted to charge 1000.00 for the job. I took to local dealer who charged me 550.00. Works fine ever since. Nissan dealer said they do like 3 head gaskets a week on the sentras. They have crappy ones in original parts. They have not recalled though.

Stalling when going from R to D while plowing snow

It sounds like your draining your battery with all the accessories. It could be a loose alternator belt or that the belt is just getting wet and slipping or your alternator is not up to the job!
Try going to a good auto parts store like Advanced Auto and ask them if this could be the problem. They may be able to swap up your alternator to one that can handle the load!
Good Luck!

Semi new battery and alternator problems

as i had stated earlier generally the reason battery's don't hold a charge is because the regulater in the altenater is defective and while you may think it's charging the battery while you are driving it is instead discharging it. one other reason is the water inside the battery is low to the point that plates inside start to short themselves . a quick way to find out is when the vehicle is running(have a friend or family or neighbor help you jump start it) remove the positve battery cable. if it keeps running it's the battery if it stalls it's the altenator . I hope this helps you out
