It should be near the brake master cylinder, mounted to the firewall.

My clutch pedal is very loose and can't seem to change gears, pls help

If light pressure on your clutch pedal causes it to fall or easily be pushed to the floor and you cannot feel a normal point in which the clutch should engage it is quite possibly the slave cylinder. Most mechanic shops will tell you to replace the clutch and while doing the service they will replace the slave cylinder. Do you see or smell any brake fluid leaking? Brake fluid is used in the clutch hydraulic system. So if your brake fluid is low or you can see it leaking or smell it burning this would Point towards slave cylinder. There are other ways to check if your slave cylinder is working appropriately by looking under the vehicle having the clutch pedal pushed and seeing if the cylinder is engaging the transmission and then feeling for resistance.

I have a 1996 Isuzu Hombre. I have had to bleed the clutch a few times lately. Today something gave in and I lost all pressure. No fluid leaking from slave cylinder area but the reservior was empty. There...

Hello buiskit: My name is Roger and I will help you. If the fluid runs down the firewall or leaks down on the floor board or on your foot. The problem should be the clutch master cylinder. However should the fluid leak at the bell housing area. Then the problem is the slave cylinder. To replace the slave cylinder you will need to pull the transmission in order to replace the slave cylinder. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Cannot change gear when engine running, when put into gear and then start engine car lurches forward. i figure its the clutch but mech says it may be gearbox

Not the trans, the clutch is not releasing. The clutch may be shot or the release mechanism may not be working. This could be linkage , a cable , or a hydraulic master cylinder & slave cylinder

When I got in to my car I started it up and the clutch pedal went to the floor, did not come back up and I'm not able to get it into gear at all.

did you check the fluid in the clutch slave? it may be leaking. if it is full either the clutch slave cylinder has went bad or the clutch master cylinder. the slave cylinder is located in the transmission the clutch master cylinder in connected to the clutch pedal and mounts to the fire wall. hope this helps

I was driving my crv home today and the clutch went to about half pedal...Hard to get in has 135,000 miles...I was wondering if it had some adjustment on it...thank you...Doug Deatherage

It should have some adjustment to it or it may be time to replace the clutch if it is the OE Clutch that has been in service since new. Check to see that there is fluid in the Slave Cylinder Reservior and have a Mechanic adjust the clutch.

Is leaking clutch fluid-put new clutch reservior on-still leaks

Depending on where the leak is you may need to replace the clutch master cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder. Or a line, the reservior is rarly the cause of a leak. If it is leaking into the car or at the firewall the master cylinder is bad.
