There is normally only 2 bolts holding it in place and from this photo of one for a 3.8 L engine it does have only 2 bolts but does have a stud at the top which is holding it in place. If you have remove the 2 bolts then use a flat blade screwdriver to pry it off. Make darn sure you have the battery positive cable removed from the battery and mark the wires at the starter before removing. i am trying to get my starter off. I have removed - 5118fe5.png

How to replace starter motor

Remove the battery connection ground, lift the vehicle with a jack on the side starter is on and block the under the frame for safety, take the starter cable off the solenoid and remove the starter wire from solenoid, remove the bolts holding the starter on and drop the starter out. This starter is not heavy, but it will be over your head so don't drop it. Replace the starter in this same way by putting the new starter in and tightening the bolts, then hook the starter wire back on the small stud on solenoid and the cable to the large stud. Let it down on it's tires and hook the battery back up and your done.

How to replace a starter on a 1993 buick roadmaster

there is little space to unbolt the starter and then wiggle it around to drop it. Unbolting the crossmembers is a real pain, so don't consider unless you can get to the back side of each bolt. So. Get some nut/bolt remover and spray on the bolts and nuts that attach the exhaust pipe to the two header exhaust pipes. Be patient during this and hopefully you won't break a bolt while removing the nuts. Try to tap lightly on the nuts to loosen some. Have a socket wrench with an extension to reach . Or, better yet, have an impact wrench to use. The impact action of the wrench helps to loosen the nuts. Do this removal of both exhaust pipes from the headers. Remove the bolts that hold the starter in place, slide forward a little and drop. But, be sure to note how wires are attached and be sure to remove the positive battery cable from battery before starting. You have to do this from underneath, so support it safely. Can't say I would want to buy a rebuilt starter and have to do it all again. It would be nice to have some extra nuts and bolts on hand, but I don't know the sizes. If you break one. Take it to the parts store. Call the parts store and make sure they have the starter on hand before you start, unless time really doesn't matter on how long it takes to do this job. Take your starter with you to compare and to get a "core charge" counted toward the purchase. 93 roadmaster 5.7L

Change transmission instructions

this is for rear wheel drive only front wheel drives require removing axle shat and dropping tie rod end and lower ball joint to get tranny out. If you start this I will give tork setting when I know what you have as it is a lot of work to type this out.

First disconnect the battery, inside the cab pull shifter boot off and remove snap ring to remove shifter, next get a block to go under engine remove drive line bolts and be sure E-brake is set and block the wheels, next put bolts from driveline into the read differential in order so you will be able to find them next disconnect the two starter bolts from the starter and tie starter up as not to allow the starter weight to hang on the wires. Remove two bolts holding slave cylinder on let hang off the side do not lose the shaft out of slave. Next remove the transmission mount bolt out next pull four bolts out of transmission cross member, next remove 5 bolts out of bell housing now get a baggie and a couple of rubber bands and pull drive shaft slide baggie over the transmission tail shaft and put on rubber band on bag to keep from losing fluid move drive shaft out of the way. Next disconnect the Speedo cable and wiring harness the reverse switch is at the top so will have to drop the tranny down to keep from breaking wire. Once you have a gap between the transmission and engine put block under back of engine slide the transmission out let the front drop down then lift up on rear of transmission and slide the cross member out of the way. Next slide tranny out of the way next remove the 6 bolts on the clutch assembly turning each bolt 1 and a ½ turns each till clutch is loose remove the clutch pressure plate and the throw out bearing, remove flywheel take to machine shop and have surfaced, replace the clutch plate pressure plate and the throw out bearing reinstall in reverse if you see any oil leaks replace seals, also replace rear transmission seal now if you don’t it will leak next after it is back together be sure you put new fluid in the transmission and bleed the slave cylinder.

Removing starter

It's not that easy. Yes, 2 bolts hold the starter down but you have to remove the whole intake manifold to access the starter to remove it.

1995 camaro starter

Very easy. Get the car off the ground on the driver side and remove the 2 bolts and 2 wires to the starter and drop down. The exhaust may be or seem to be in the way but you can wiggle it through carefully. wiggle in the replacement and attach the wires carefully and bolt into place checking to make sure your wires are not kinked after you install the bolts. hope this helps
