Check for a small push button switch under dash or if equipped with window antenna, on the antenna itself. Once the switch is located, turn on ignition and within 5 seconds push button to disarm alarm manually

Alarm is going off but couldn't unlock doors with remote; opened door with mechanical key but can't start the engine; battery is old- would the battery failing cause these events; do the remote keys go...

Depending on the type of vehicle you can but not usually. The alarm would have tripped off due to the battery going flat thats why you could not open the doors with the remote, or switch the alarm off.

The only way you can disengage the alarm is to remove the alarm relay and bypass it.
But unfortunately we can not give you this type of information as it can be used in a ' negative way ' or thieft of vehicles.

But for you, just fit a good battery and then you should beable to switch the alarm off with the remote.

Hope this helped.

Jeep one year old. Keyless just stopped working. Engine starts for a second then cuts off. Replaced battery in key/remote and still doesn't work. Now alarm sounds if opened with the key the old...

Assuming you have a second key try using that one to deactivate the alarm, if not replace battery in remote. Does lock and unlock work now? you will need to get the remote operational to disengage the security feature that will not allow car to start.
if not disconnect the car battery let sit for 15 min to reset system try again..make sure bettery in remote is installed properly.
