Question about 2000 Ford Windstar
Don't have one ...... the switch in the trans is bad
Posted on Apr 26, 2010
I know this question is old but I just fixed my overdrive on my 1999 Windstar. I took out the dash to fix the gauges by soldering the circuit boards on the back of them.
I noticed that the wire from the shifter where the wires come out for the overdrive button.....were busted right off. It appears that Ford when they built this thing didn't give quite enough wire....this in combination with the tilt wheel broke the two wires in half. Used a little solder and some heat shrink and better than new!
