Question about 2003 Infiniti FX35

1 Answer

Infiniti fx35 - did not want to start after being cold (sat for 2 days)...I took several tries before he engine turned over, and when it did, I had to accelerate the gas for it not to cut off...Lots of smoke coming out of the mufflers too!

It's got 220K miles on it (LOTS!) - No engine light is on. It was sitting for 2 days. I just tried to start it again and it started fine, but when I accelerate smoke comes out of the engine

Well not really enough info to go on....on first guess sounds like a bad head gasket or seal.

How many miles on it? Ever been overheated? Any previous problems? Is the check engine light in when its running?

Wow thats alot on that engine. You are either leaking coolant or oil into the cylnders and its burning (thats the smoke) I would advise against driving it, and get it to a shop ASAP, as driving it will cause further damage that could be way more costly

My 2008 Infinity fx35 has a random hard start, engine will flood after 2 or 3 trieds.i will turn the ignition on and wait a minute before cranking holding the gas pedal to the floor it will start. also

If I understand your post correctly, once you get the car running, you have no more problems the rest of the day? That would explain why there are no codes. The ECU typically will not react to issues. Unfortunately these are complex systems, and Nissans tend to have some gremlins (I have an 07 FX, and had owned several others).
The easiest thing to check is the battery. The system depends on accurate voltages, so test the battery under load (the standard test won't do). If it's over 3 years old, it might be the cheapest first step to replace it. Keep in mind that both the engine and the battery operate better once warmed, so this is consistent with your "all day" experience.

Also, if you have occasion to start the car then turn it off quickly (like moving it inside at night, you can have unburned gas causing hard starts. This can happen in cases where the engine is run less than five minutes from cold.

Could be pressure valves, check valves, or a number of other things. If you live in a harsh climate, you may be getting some corrosion in the electrical connectors. This can through off voltage and cause the ECU to react to incorrect conditions. If you're handy or have a patient friend who is, the repair manuals have a fairly complete diagnostic process. Also, check the Infiniti forums.

Reset sat nav

I think you will need to reprogram not reset your unit. If the units built-in you probably need to see a dealer. If its aftermarket maybe you can find the manuel, wait for it.......on the internet

Car wont start. took a fuel injector out and put the same one right back in and it ran for 2 days fine now wont start again, what is the problem?

A possible fuel pump pressure issue. You will need to have a garage check the fuel line pressure. The engine requires more fuel on cold start and a failing pump may not be able to cope with supply. This may also be apparent at high revs, but not as apparent as cold start.

My heater in my 06 fx35 started messing up, it does not turn on as i start the engine but it will come on after the engine is warm, is this normal? it never did it before n had it for over a year. i can...

I had the same problem and took it to the dealer and he said probably my fan has a problem or it is an electrical problem. The interesting thing I noticed on the dash was the fan was showing blowing in full (all signal lines on but was showing only one fan signal - has to be three when heater is in full). Have an appointment on Jan 20, will check and let you know.

1st you will need to contact Infiniti, so they can quote you the option which is $700.00 something dollars when i checked. Just because its equipped there are still things that need to be added in order to make it function. As per the mechanic. Rip off.
