I tried your solution and I never heard the single chime in the final step. I took a test ride and it seemed to work but, then started chiming again. When I tried to repeat your instructions the seat belt light never came on after I unbuckeled the belt the first time.

after I followed your instructions I never heard the single chime. I took a test ride and it seemed to work for a few minutes. Then it started chiming again. I repeated your instructions, only this time after I unbuckeled the belt the light never came back on. Any suggestions?

To enable or disable the seat belt warning chime on your 2005 Jaguar Type S

1. Ensure the front passenger seat is unoccupied.

NOTE:

Steps two to five must be completed within 60 seconds.

2. Turn the ignition to the RUN position (do not start the engine).

3. Buckle the driver safety belt buckle and wait until the seat belt warning lamp extinguishes.

4. Unbuckle the driver safety belt buckle and wait until the seat belt warning lamp illuminates.

5. Repeat Steps three and four a further eight times.

6. When the driver safety belt buckle is unbuckled for the ninth time a single chime will be heard. The single chime is acknowledgement that the beltminder feature has been disabled.

The beltminder feature will be disabled until the above process (Steps one to six) are repeated. Upon repeating the process the beltminder feature will be reactivated

Hi,
This can't be disabled as such you can only bypass it. If it is still going off when your seatbelt is in then you have to get the belt buckle swicth replaced. There are no fuse's you can pull out to switch it of.

There is a relay which you can pull out which should be under the bonnet fuse box, it should read either of the following, S/Belt or S/B relay on the underside of the relay/fusebox lid.

Pull this out and it should stop.

Let me know if you need further information.

Thanks

Jason

No you have either got a faulty wire which is causing the alarm to activate, because its a safty feature of the vehile you can't really stop it with disconnecting other safty circuts. Which is dangerous...

Unfortunately you will need to take it to a Jaguar specialist.

Jag x type flashing code 51 which is seatbelt switch circuit fault drivers side, hw do I startto fix it? Thanks David

Codes 51 and 52 are for Front Safety Belt Buckle and Seat Track Position Switches. As X Type belts are 51 and 52, drivers side and passenger side Seat Track Position Sensors (If it's one of your AWD models) or the Driver's Seat in the Diesel (Not one on the Passenger Seat in FWD cars!) They're riveted to the seat track, so not so easy to get out! Might just need the connector cleaning up. That has worked in some cases.

* after step 3 the restraint warning light, (airbag light) will turn on for three (3) seconds.
