Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

Both front low beam headlamps and both rear side brake lights out

Since both lowbeams and both rear brake lights went out at the same time, wouldn't that most likely mean a fuse has gone out? And if so, how do I know which fuses are out?

Check under the hood in the fuse box pull the fuse and see if the wire in it is burned or broken if not then its good also if it good which im guessing it is. Im putting my money on the relay which is in the fuse box in the hood also and i will include a pic of the right relay to check i would swap the relays around and see if they turn on. Relays run aprx $35 heres a pic for you hope this helped you thanks

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Problem with driver's side headlight; lowbeam works fine under daytime running. When I flip up for night time driving, the driver's side headlight goes out. Dying bulb or....?

The day time running lamps are the high beam lamps , just going through the DRL resistor . Your low beam bulb could be bad (open) . Check voltage with DVOM - digital volt ohm meter , there should be three wires at the headlamp socket , check the orange wire for battery voltage with low beams on .

Lowbeam headlights wont work, brake lights are out and check engine light is on...changed th dimmer switch, no luck

For the low beam problem, Swap relays 45 & 46 in the underhood fuse panel. Relay 46 is for the Low Beams. If that fixes the light, replace the relay that cam out of position 46.
Since the high mounted brake light is working, that indicates that the brake switch is good. You need to check the bulbs in the rear tail light assembly, if they are good, check fuse #34.

The filaments could break and then make a short term contact causing your right lamp to come back on.
Check the bulbs with an ohms meter first before searching for more difficulties.

Headlamp malfunction

Your headlamps [lowbeams] work with the alarm system under the passenger seat. Any malfunction with the alarm devices under the seat will interfere with your headlights [lowbeams] functioning . I used to have the same problem with mine until I changed my alarm devices. I will advice you to go to a junckyard near you and remove the passenger seat from an 84-89 300zx and with a 14mm socket remove the seat, then; used a 10mm socket to remove the alarm devices. Do not worry, the wirings are the same on all of them. Good luck!
