Here in the states the Montero was primarily supplied with the 3.0 V6. Either 5-speed manual or 4 speed (with OD) automatic.

Thanks,
Tom

an adaptor plate will be the solution to issue, google ( make of engine)+ adaptor plates. and you may find that an ad for supplier. holden engines are pretty common for conversions and their are plenty of engineering places that make adaptors.

Can i convert a gasoline Pajero Io to Diseal by changing the engine

yHi,, yes you can, however there are a few more conversions you will need, or a few things you need to ensure I'll list them for you.

1.) engine and transmission (some times) nneds to be replaced.

2.) the fuel pump and fuel lines. (if your pump isnt powerful enough you will need a stronger one)

3.) the electrical system needs to be adapted to the new engine. (like your starter and ignition wiring)

Unable to engage 4wd 1993 pajero

Do the 4 wheeldrive lights in the middle of the instrument cluster flash when you've selected 4 Wheel Drive?. Have you tried move forward with the transferbox lever to 4 Wheel Low on a NON-Asphalt/Tarmac surface[ie, dirt road/trail. Sometimes on a Gen 2 Pajero/Montero that hasn't had the 4 Wheel selection used in awhile, do this trick, before moving the lever back up to 4 Wheel High[with no center diff lock] seems to free up a sticking t-box. Also, make sure all your vacuum hoses for the front axle connection system are attached to their metal pipes or solenoids, esp. the main connection at the engine[your source of vacuum for the system.]

B16A2/3: Completely bolt-in Swap, VTEC needs to be wired, SIR II, Hasport shift linkage. Del Sol VTEC for the del sol 2. B18B: Completely bolt-in swap, SIR II, Hasport shift linkage. Del Sol VTEC for the del sol 3. B17A: Completely bolt-in swap, cable-hydro transmission kit(not recommended) or hydraulic b-series transmission, VTEC needs to be wired. 4. B18C1: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired. 5. B18C5: Completely bolt-in swap, OBD conversion, VTEC needs to be wired. 6.
