I was racin my 2000 z24 and i accidentally went full ****** and red lined it at 7000rpm.. something went *ting* and now it don't work so good.. nasty tickin sound comin from head, figure it's a bent rod or two.. anyone have any insight as to what that might be for sure and/or know how hard it is to fix and what's required to fix it? Could it just be the timing belt jumped a notch or two?? thanks..

haha way to take it personal f u c k stick. of course i have to do that s h i t... i was wondering what parts i'd be lookin at possibly replacing so i could price it out to see if it was worth it before i started and was hoping to get an answer from someone who's done this before, not someone with their thumb up their a s s just simply speculating. you chat with guys like me all the time? sounds like a fun life you lead just chattin on the internet with guys all day. ever try girls? they're far more rewarding. and btw do you always chat with 26 year old software company owners that are in the process of selling their company and retiring? i don't even need to fix this f u c k i n car i'm buyin a gtr in 2 months. just want to fix this one in the meantime if it's not too bad of a job. and yes it was a race, i was on pace with the 350z my buddy drives. f u c k you you arrogant ***** and f u c k ur mother too. if she would have behaved better when she was younger we wouldn't be havin this problem. i'm too hungover to put up with ur BS.
    likeasumbooooodie.

A high pitch "tick" is a tall tell sign of a valve
a low pitch "knock" is the sign of a rod

I'd wager dollars to doughnuts you threw a valve or two, or at least lets hope so

bent rod = major rebuild
throw valve = just a weekend R&R

remove the valve covers and see if you see anything obvious then update your post and let me know

assuming you have the push rod engine versus the overhead cam then yes...

    otherwise a little more work

Your engine noise could br related to a number of things, and is difficult to really say what the exact cause is or what exactly broke. If the engine is still running, you can remove the valve cover and inspect the val train components, you may have just broken a spring. To verify the timing belt would require you to remove the cover and check crankshaft to camshaft alignment. In either case, 7000 rpm and a "ting" is most likely or definitely an internal engine issue that is not easily diagnosed on this site.

You need to perform the task's I requested, but you obviously can't deny or proclaim that I am incorrect. I chat with guys like yourself all the time, and it seems each time, they always expect the internet to resolve there problems without actually DOING any work. Regardless of this fact, your gonna spend a lot of money fixing this 7000 rpm so called race.

I just gave you professional advice and needed some answers to proceed. I understand your upset, but you gotta understand that without this info....we could be chatting for possibilities for weeks. I was not telling that I do not know, I was asking valid questions to see where we stood. Thanks for the verbal badgering.

Have a 1993Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera the horn stop working and and there is something nasty looking inside the radiator

chances are the horn is no good replace it. if you push on the horn pad and hear a click the horn is bad. as far as the rad have the cooling system flushed. you don`t say what the nasty looks like.

Check the battery then if it's good use a multi meter and keep checking for voltage under the hood following the power wires it could be a fuse able link

Not able to get any read from an OBD2 meter (blank) May have damaged the ecu when cables were crossed while jump starting. Alternator is good (bench tested). Brand new battery (batt 100A fuse replaced)...

I've seen a handful of vehicles over the years where the jumper cables were accidentally hooked up backwards, even for a split second, and the damage done has ranged from none [other than some nasty sparks] to severe where the engine/transmission computer were damaged by the reversed polarity. Because you're unable to read any data via the OBDII connector I would suspect either a blown fuse or fuses or a damaged computer. I'd check all the fuses first then if things still don't work you may have to have a service facility do some further testing to see what is working and what isn't as far as computer inputs/outputs are concerned. Sorry that I don't have an easy fix for you but hope this helps a little bit!

I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier z24 it is making a squealing noise when I give it gas, so we have changed the Idler Pulley because that needed to be replaced, and changed the Alternator, because the bearing...

Without hearing the squealing the only things I could suggest would be the other rotating components in your system like the AC compressor/Water pump/ Power Steering pump. Could also be a bad tensioner. Hope this helps, good luck

Back window defrost

there is a break in the defrost lines. should have continuity from one end to the other, but if lines are broken (cracked window, accidentally scraped, etc.) it won't work.
