Either a broken or shorted out wiring to the solenoid. The solenoid itself could be shorted out.

I have 2004 gmc envoy xl 5.3 engine the code po753 is showing up


You are starting to have a transmission problem. I know....the Envoy runs fine....well, this code is telling you that there is a beginning of a problem with your transmission system. It could be a wire, could be a rock that was ran over flicked up under there and possible damaged something.....
Bottom line, there is a an issue developing. Suggestion? Check with AAMCO...it is free and they can give you an idea what the seriousness is.
Trouble Code: P0753 (5.3L V8 VIN P Auto)
A/T 1-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Malfunction (4L60-E, 4L65-E)
Trouble Code Conditions:
Engine runtime over 5 seconds, system voltage at 10-18v, engine not in Fuel Cutoff mode, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the A/T 1-2 Shift solenoid circuit.
Possible Causes:
  • 1-2 shift solenoid connector is damaged, loose or shorted
  • 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit is shorted to system power

This includes PWM solid state relays.P1495 Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) solenoid circuit.P0753 (M) Trans 3-4 Shift Sol/Trans Relay Circuits An open or shorted condition detected in the overdrive solenoid control circuit or Trans Relay Circuit in JTEC RE transmissions. Was MIL code 45. P0753 (M) Trans 3-4 Shift Sol/Trans Relay Circuits An open or shorted condition detected in the transmission 2-4 shift solenoid circuit (4-speed auto. trans. only).P0136 (M) 1/2 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Oxygen sensor heater element malfunction.

Aside from getting into an accident and having your wiring harness severely damaged, the other likely suspect is your PCM. These codes are not related to each other and indicate a much larger problem.

Intermitent starting problems in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee


Almost sounds like an injector heat-soak issue... However I'm wired on coffee and Monster at the moment. By not starting for a few days, do you try to start it several times in the interim, or do you just not touch it out of frustration for a few days? You should be able to check for heat-soak the next time it won't start after a drive by pouring a bottle of cool water over the injectors and down the fuel rail. Should cool off the injectors so they work properly again.

Have you checked to see if there are any codes coming from computer? With the key in the ignition, turn it from off to on three times (not all the way to start, ie crank the motor). So you go on-off-on-off-on-off then back to on and leave it there. The check engine light will flash a specific sequence. It may be handy to have a piece of paper in case there's multiple codes given. Basically what you do is count the flashes. They'll come in two-digit sequences, with the digits separated by a small pause. If there are multiple codes, they will be separated by a longer pause. So flash-flash-pause-flash-flash-flash paauuusssee flash-flash-flash-pause-flash-flash-flash would be a 23 and 33 respectively, if that makes sense.

This may help you with trouble-shooting, especially if the computer does give you some codes. Don't worry about Code 12 and Code 55, as 12 is battery/power disconnected within last 50 engine starts (or something like that), and 55 is end of message (ie, no more codes).

Code 11-Camshaft signal or Ignition signal-no reference signal detected during engine cranking.
Code 12-Memory to controller has been cleared within 50-l00 engine starts.
Code 13-MAP sensor pneumatic signal-no variation in MAP sensor signal is detected or no difference is recognized between the engine MAP reading and the stored barometric pressure reading..
Code 14-MAP voltage too high or too low.
Code 15-Vehicle speed sensor signal-no distance sensor signal detected during road load conditions.
Code 16-Knock sensor circuit-Open or short has been detected in the knock sensor circuit.
Code 16-Battery input sensor-battery voltage sensor input below 4 volts with engine running.
Code 17-Low engine temperature-engine coolant temperature remains below normal operating temperature during vehicle travel; possible thermostat problem.
Code 21-Oxygen sensor signal-neither rich or lean condition is detected from the oxygen sensor input.
Code 22-Coolant voltage low-coolant temperature sensor input below the minimum acceptable voltage/Coolant voltage high-coolant temperature sensor input above the maximum acceptable voltage.
Code 23-Air Charge or Throttle Body temperature voltage HIGH/LOW-charge air temperature sensor input is above or below the acceptable voltage limits.
Code 24-Throttle Position sensor voltage high or low.
Code 25-Automatic Idle Speed (AIS) motor driver circuit-short or open detected in 1 or more of the AIS control circuits.
Code 26-Injectors No. 1, 2, or 3 peak current not reached, high resistance in circuit.
Code 27 -Injector control circuit-bank output driver stage does not respond properly to the control signal.
Code 27-Injectors No. 1, 2, or 3 control circuit and peak current not reached.
Code 31-Purge solenoid circuit-open or short detected in the purge solenoid circuit.
Code 32-Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) solenoid circuit-open or short detected in the EGR solenoid circuit/EGR system failure-required change in fuel/air ratio not detected during diagnostic test.
Code 33-Air conditioner clutch relay circuit-open or short detected in the air conditioner clutch relay circuit. If vehicle doesn't have air conditioning ignore this code.

Description: Open or shorted condition detected in the turbocharger wastegate solenoid control circuit.

(F504) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT OPEN
(K139) WASTEGATE SOLENOID DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN

(K139) WASTEGATE SOLENOID DRIVER SHORTED TO VOLTAGE

Diagnostic Test
1. DAMAGED WIRING HARNESS OR CONNECTORS

Turn Ignition off.
Disconnect the ECM harness connectors.
Disconnect the Wastegate Solenoid harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.


Are any wires or pins damaged?

Yes
Repair or replace any damaged wire or connectors.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL).

No
Go To 2


2. WASTEGATE SOLENOID

Reconnect the ECM harness connector.
Reconnect the disconnected Wastegate Solenoid harness connector.
Turn the Ignition on, engine not running.
Disconnect the Wastegate Solenoid harness connector.
Connect an incandescent test light across the supply and driver pins at the Wastegate Solenoid harness connector.

NOTE: The ECM will perform a self check of the circuit after approximately 30 seconds, which should light the incandescent test light.


Does the light illuminate brightly after 30 seconds of being connected?

Yes
Replace the Wastegate Solenoid.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL).

No
Go To 3


3. (F504) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT OPEN

Connect an test light between the Wastegate Solenoid connector Fused ignition switch output circuit and battery negative.
Compare the test light brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

Does the light illuminate brightly?
Yes
Go To 4

No
Repair the open (F504) Fused Ignition switch output circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL).



4. (K139) WASTEGATE SOLENOID DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN

Disconnect the ECM harness connectors.
Measure the resistance of the Wastegate Solenoid driver circuit between the Wastegate Solenoid harness connector and the ECM harness connector.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ohms?
Yes
Go To 5

No
Repair the open (K139) Wastegate Solenoid control circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL).


5. (K139) WASTEGATE SOLENOID CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

Measure the resistance of the (K139) Wastegate Solenoid driver circuit between the Wastegate Solenoid harness connector and battery negative.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ohms?
Yes
Repair the (K139) Wastegate solenoid circuit shorted to ground.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL).

No
Go To 6


6. (K139) WASTEGATE SOLENOID DRIVER SHORTED TO VOLTAGE

Measure the voltage between the (K139) Wastegate Solenoid driver circuit at the Wastegate Solenoid connector and battery negative.

Is the voltage less than 1 volt?
Yes
Go To 7

No
Repair the (K139) Wastegate solenoid driver shorted to voltage.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL).


7. (K139) WASTEGATE SOLENOID DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO ANOTHER CIRCUIT

Measure the resistance between the (K139) Wastegate Solenoid driver circuit in the ECM harness connector and all other circuits in the ECM harness connectors.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ohms?
Yes
Repair the (K139) Wastegate solenoid circuit shorted to another circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL). (Refer to 9 - ENGINE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)


No
Go To8


8. WASTEGATE SOLENOID

Reconnect the ECM harness connector.
Reconnect the disconnected Wastegate Solenoid harness connector.

Disconnect the Wastegate Solenoid harness connector.

My '93 suzuki sidekick automatic transmission 4 wheel drive after warm up "overdrive off" starts flashing on and off and when on the drivetrain stops working


The O/D light's flashing means there is some kind of transmission trouble.

The codes are..


Trouble Code (1) Probable Cause
12 ............................... System Operation Normal
21 ..................... No. 1 Shift Solenoid Open Circuit
22 .................... No. 1 Shift Solenoid Short Circuit
23 ..................... No. 2 Shift Solenoid Open Circuit
24 .................... No. 2 Shift Solenoid Short Circuit
25 ............................. TCC Solenoid Open Circuit
26 ............................ TCC Solenoid Short Circuit
31 ............ Vehicle Speed Sensor Open Or Short Circuit
32 ................ Throttle Position Sensor Short Circuit
33 ................. Throttle Position Sensor Open Circuit
34 ................ Defective Park/Neutral Position Switch
36 .............. (2) No Signal-Both Vehicle Speed Sensors
(1) - Check listed component for probable cause. Also check wiring and connections of specified component.
(2) - No signal from both transmission and speedometer mounted vehicle speed sensors.

If a trouble code is present, OD OFF light will flash a trouble code. The number of flashes will equal first digit of trouble code. After a one second pause, second digit will be displayed. If more than one trouble code is present, next trouble code will be displayed after a 3 second pause. Smallest number trouble code will be displayed first. Trouble codes will be repeated.

What are codes 32 and 45 for a 1994 Doge Ram 3500 Van?


32 - EGR Solenoid circuit. Short or open in the EGR solenoid circuit. Check for loose, broken, or shorted wire in the EGR valve wiring and connectors. Possible air fuel ratio imbalance not detected during diagnosis.

45 - Trans OD solenoid circuit. Transmission OD solenoid circuit failure. Open or short in the transmission overdrive solenoid circuit.

My 1991 v6 4 runner auto has a flashing overdrive light on the dash. Most of the time it skips 2nd witch makes it sluggish. I plugged in a diagnostics link and get a fault message comming up on the...


That code 63= "Severed No. 2 solenoid or short circuit-severed wire harness or short circuit." There is a way to check the No. 2 transmission solenoid with an ohmeter. You'll have to disconnect the wire bundle from the ECT computer and measure the resistance between the S2 terminal and ground. You should see 11-15 ohms. If the solenoid is open or reads very high ohms, it should be replaced. This can be done by removing the transmission pan and the transmission oil filter to gain access to the solenoids. You do not need to remove the whole transmission from the vehicle.
