Question about 2002 Lincoln LS
Straight to the dealer and warranty it. Get an appointment and get a Lincoln loaner.
You can also go to Autozone or Oreillys for a free scan, but you would have to buy a part to fix it or go to the dealer with the diagnosis and have the dealer fix it.
Stopping like you did was good, you gave it a chance to clear the problem. With the "wrench" on you will be able to get a diagnosis from the onboard computer.
