My Ford Taurus 1997 GL spends 17 - 18 liters of gas on City drive, A/C is on. Is it normal.


well, according to site www,fueleconomy.gov, the fuel consumption for a 1997 Ford Taurus is 18mpg for city driving, 25 mpg for highway and 21mpg combined....so you are running at an average, and for this age of vehicle, i think very good

check for fuel supply and check for spark at plugs , could be any number of things but this is what i check for first

If you ran it hot they are bad for blowing the head gasket...hope that is not the case !!!!! Maybe the batt died and alternator cain't keep up or the computer went on it...? Best of luck to you !

I have a 1997 ford taurus and i have a bad problem...My car wiil not start. It is not getting gas to the feul injectors,my cooling fans are not working, my sunroof is not working, and when i turun the key...


check the fuse for the radio first. replace fuel filter. and get nuetral safety switch. radio adn sunroof might be related? hope this helps. fuel filter 10 dollars nuetral safety switch 30 dollars auto zone. easy fix.

97 Taurus fuel filter


Not hard. It is located in front of the right front wheel. Be sure you new filter comes with new clips. All you need is a flat blade screwdriver and a pan to catch the gas that will run out.
