First, you need to check . what cause the over heat , it could be just the simple things like .coolant fan ,or coolant fan relay, and need more coolant. The liquid you ask is so expensive ,sometime it doesn't works waste the momey. I am not very sure the name because it beem long time, I think It called The Red Devil.

That would be coolant or anti freeze, but it dont over heating it helps keep the cooling system rust free and helps prevent overheating but it dont keep it from overheating,if your overheating there is a problem you need to deal with, check the water level, check the thermostat, are the fans turning on,is there signs of leaking around the water pump?

I was told to put stop leak into the radiator, but the radiator cap doesn't go directly into the radiator it goes into a resevoir first. Is it still ok to put the stop leak in here?

take the top radiator hose off and pour it in there....and use the crush type tablets instead of the liquid stufff...prestone makes them and they work better and dont plug **** up....good luck..lee

its overheating. Take it to a shop and find out why before engine damage is done. Could be from a radiator fan not working or worse

1991 Lincoln Town car overheating

The year of the vehicle, rusty liquid, and overheating, says your radiator could use a replacement. If it was your water pump, you would have liquid coming out of the water pump itself.

Missing after s/r radiator and over heating

When it overheated you may have warped your cylinder head(s) and now coolant got into one or more cylinders. Take out your plugs and crank your engine and take note of any liquid being shot out of any cylinders. If you have a compression gauge, put it in each cylinder and crank the engine until you get the highest reading. Watch the gauge and if you see the pressure dropping, you have a pressure leak probably from a warped head from overheating.

Note: Never remove a spark plug from a hot engine if you have aluminum heads.
