Question about 1996 Subaru Legacy

1 Answer

1996 Subaru Legacy is equipped with keyless entry. We changed the battery and the flashers will not stop flashing. A sticker on the car indicates that to get them to stop flashing you have to hit a button on the keyless entry fob. Unfortunately, we do not have the keyless entry fob. Is there another way to stop the flashers w/out the keyless entry system?

How do I disable the security alarm on my 1999 Subaru Legacy? I do not have a keyless entry

If your just dealing with the alarm/horn going off all the time, you can try disarming it when it goes off by putting the key in the ignition and turning it on and of three times ending with the last turn in the on position. This will stop the alarm from sounding.

I disconnected my battery and now the flashers won't stop. The sticker says to turn ignition to run and press and holod the keyless entry programming button for 1 second, but I don't have keyless entry,...

I guess you can try removing the flasher relay for 1 second and see what happens. If this doesn't work then call the Dealership. They should tell you what to do if it was published in the owners manual.

I just changed the starter, disconnected battery

Under dash by your left knee is a 4"x4" box. It has a small wire lead with a button on the end. Turn ignition on and push button. Resets the alarm. THis will stop your lights from flashing. Have a great day.
