First things first... lets see what we are missing...
1.) do you have spark?
2.) do you have fuel...can you at least hear the fuel pump run when you turn the key on
3.) when cranking...does it sound normal, fast or slow
4.) FINALLY...watch the check engine light...is it on with the key on engine off and does it stay on while cranking or does it go off?

lets not assume anything... remove one of your coils and check for spark!
next, verify you have fuel at the schrader valve and finally, do you have any tools like a test light, DVOM and/or vacuum gauge?

96 explorer disengages 4wh low but does not engage 2wheel

Does it shift to 4wd high range ? If so then shift to 2wd . What is going on here is the transfer case motor is stopping due to the motor position sensor has gone bad which means that you replace the transfer case motor assembly. But if you wish to make it a 2wd for awhile then remove motor and manually turn shaft . This can be done by raising and supporting rear axle truck in park remove motor turn shaft slowly with pliers and rotating the play in drive shaft. There are stamped markings on back of case showing gear positions..

1987 nissan 4x4 pickup with 3.0L V6. just replaced the ignition coil and rotor. Distributor cap looked ok. started ok, but after warm and driving for 2 minutes it stalled and wouldn't...

Sounds like you changed the part that failed but did'nt change the part the caused the part to fail. the spark plgs wear out and need more power to fire as they wear out as do the old plug wires 87 is a long time ago and some are still running with the orginal parts (their that good) change all the parts at once ( plugs , wires , cap and rotor aand now again another coil) and you'll be back to going. remanber that low voltage will kill everythig and some starters will crank when the voltage is too low for anything else. fuel pump and the spark need good voltage to run and the starter may still turn the motor at very low voltages. check the battery and the charging system. You may try to just jumper to another car ( so the voltage is known good) and if it runs OK you are finding and testing battery and charging system parts.

My car won't turn over. i have a new battery on it ( DOUBLE CHECKED ITS FINE) It seems as tho the starter motor is'nt getting enough power to it. It just sounds as though its struggles to turn...

Sometimes the starter motor bushes can be worn out and so will work with a high level of friction which will not power the engine to turn over. Also if the brushes or the commutator in the motor is bad it will be hard to turn.
The starter solenoid also is a suspect as if this is worn out it will be delivering lower current to the motor which will not be sufficient to turn the engine .
So please remove the starter motor and overhaul.. check the starter pinion and flywheel.

Car doesnt want to start. all lights come on when in the on position however when I turn it to start nothing happens it dont even try to turn over it just clicks 2002 hyundai xg350

The starting system consists of:
  • starter motor
  • starter switch, part of the ignition switch
  • starter motor solenoid relay switch
  • starter solenoid
  • starter drive
When you turn your key to start your engine, it just clicks, right? If so, more than likely this is due to a bad battery. Even though your battery may appear to be fully charged, it may have a dead cell, or worse. If you get a jump, does the vehicle start? If so, replace your battery.

Possible sources of the problem if the engine does not crank or the relay clicks:
  1. Battery
  2. Starter motor
  3. Starter motor relay
  4. Ignition switch
  5. Damaged fuse
  6. Anti-theft system
  7. Circuitry

I have a 2002 ford exoerdition with 30000 miles on it. i never used the 4wheel drive. wen i did for the first time this year. it went in, an wen i went to turn it off, it did, but now i am having proplem...

The system may still be stuck in 4x4 even though you have turned it off and it appears to be off. If it is still in 4x4 it should difficult to make tight turns on dry pavement due to the vehicle wanting to buck and **** as it tries to turn while all 4 wheels are trying to rotate at the same speeds. The driveline may also whine if you are driving in a straight line on a dry/hard road surface. You may have to have the vehicle lifted up on a hoist so it can be test run with all 4 wheels of off the ground to determine if indeed it is still stuck in 4 wheel drive. I see this type of problem with 4x4's several times each winter [not just Fords] so it can happen. Good luck, hope this helps!

Got 1988 buick park ave.car wouldnt start,hooked

You may have damaged the starter when the engine kicked back.

The ignition module may have been defective.....but change the crank pickup too.........more likely it is the cause of the problems.

Change the crank pickup at every tune up..........it has a high failure rate.

If your engine has 250km or 150K miles you may need a chain soon.
