I will explain how the system is suppose to work. The system can sometimes be fooled by the debris in the emergency brake area. If you have rear rotors the emergency brakes are often overlooked because they are concealed. Remember that every component has to clear the Trac-Control computer before it can reset.

The Trac-Control sytem can interrupt the airflow to the engine via the ductwork, or interrupt the spark. It does this to slow the RPMs of the spinning wheels. The second thing Trac-Control does is adjust the speed of the spinning rear wheels by applying the brakes to each wheel
separately until they match. If you have 4 wheel drive, it will handle each of the 4 wheels separately. If you do not have Full-time 4 wheel drive, the power transfers automatically to both ends of the van.

Each wheel has a sensor for motion and there can be speed sensors in the big differential for each pair of wheels. All of the speed sensors must be clean so they can count the RPM of the wheel. There are later models which may have an IVD system for stability control. In the end the ABS system must be compatible with the Trac-Control because they share some of the same parts but each do a different job.

This may sound like a lot of extra detail, but it is a total rundown of the system. Each component must work before your Trac-Control will. There are more Mercury Marquis's built with Trac-Control than say Crown Vics because Trac-Control is standard on a Mercury. You can check the areas I mentioned for your Windstar, but in terms of a Dealer I think Lincoln-Mercury has more experience with your system. There are testing scanners for the traction system. Good Luck and I would be interested if this helps your 5 year long problem.

2010 Ford explorer sport trac Adrenelin Navigation system - "No GPS" = GPS not working... Cannot find a solution to fix this. I have tried re-setting and updating software.

I do not have experience on this but may offer some ideas. Look in your fuse layouts and find out if the GPS gets power independently or is part of Radio power. If no power then reset or update can not work. Antenna, if the antenna for the GPS or connections are bad it will not work. Identity, in order to track the identity for your unit must be registered for the satellite to track. Not sure if some units need a paid subscription. Last, contact Ford Tech or Dealer or Electronic repair to see if frequency can be tracked to verify flow of data.

Dealer OR Locksmith

Dealer you need your VIN number

Locksmith may just cut a key for your ignition

IS it a coded ignition ? then you definatly need a dealer

Rear view mirror too dark for 05 sport track ford

I own on 04 and if its like mine, it automatically dims itself when lights are behind you. If its only too dark then... just turn it off. If it remains too dark all the time, I'd call your dealer and see what they suggest.

2004 sport trac crusie control issues

It sounds like the cruise module is detecting something wrong. I would check the brake pedal switch, it might be out of adjustment or someone might have kicked it by accident.
