no power as in no connection ,,,do any lights show up ..is your battery dead ,,does it start ,,I mean no power as in where ?? Oh to me sounds like the brain is gone in the vehicle ...you will get nothing once that goes

I just bought a new battery and alternator for my 98 ford tarus but car still keeps dying i checked the cable posts and chased the power and ground wires but they are secure what is wrong

you don`t say if you know why it dies because the battery is dead or it stops while driving.check the fuel pressure with a gage.it could be a pump problem or fuel filter.are you loosing spark when it stops running.have you checked for spark.have you checked to see if there is a code in the ecm(computer) that need to be checked out.start with the above to know which way to start to find the problem

Went through a puddle in my v6 1998 ford taurus. Now the battery light is on, a belt is squeaking and im loosing power steering. whats this gonna cost?

you should be able to tighten the belt . if not you have to replace the belt.

I have a 2006 Ford Taurus on which the battery has died. I jump started the car and drove it to the mechanics and had the battery replaced. Now the radio/cd/stereo player doesn't work. Everything else...

You need to enter a security code found in your owners manual, sometimes when the battery is dead for a certain time or replaced, it goes into security mode.

You have a bad battery. It has plenty of Volts but no amperage. Most likely it has a dead cell. Replace the battery to solve the problem.

This morning the service engine light came on and the car 98 taurus dies after a few seconds in park but starts back up and wont die while driving, only in park. I checked vaccuum hoses already.

check throttl pision sensor or mass air flow sensor

it sounds like the alt drive it too auto zone and they will test it for you or you can take it off and have it tested also

You should check the alternator to see if it is putting out the voltage it should. (13 to14 volts) If not the car is draining the battery until it quits running. putting the lights on would just speed up the process
