You have a blown out brake line, and will have to have the line replaced.

U1040

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)

The control module ID number list below provides a method for determining which module is not communicating. A module with a class 2 serial data circuit malfunction or which loses power during the current ignition cycle will have a Loss of Communication DTC set by other modules that depend on information from that failed module. The modules that can communicate will set a DTC indicating the module that cannot communicate. When no message is detected from a learned identification number for 5 seconds, a DTC U1??? where ??? is equal to the 3-digit identification number is set.

The electronic brake control module is communicating , no need to bother the PCM . The code was set in pcm because it lost communication with EBCM , PCM not the problem .

How to reset the alarm

lock driver door then passenger door with the key wait 5 mins then unlock the driver door with key and then passenger door with key but don't open the doors when you first unlock it then after all doors un lock then hold foot on brake then insert key turn it to on position while holding brake down
then release brake then compress brake 3 times and then turn the key to off position. this should reset the security system for you

On my 2005 Infiniti FX35 the Passinger Door and Rear Hatch Locks will not open. Intermittently they will work, but it seems to be getting worst each day. Is there a way to diagnose which actuator is going...

there is a seprsate actuator for each door/hatch. so it is commen on those for more then one to go bad at about the same time. just look and see if you can see the lock move slightly while tryinng to work it. if so then that is what you need.

It depends on the window giving you trouble. If its the driver front, check for power going to it. If its one of the other windows, will it work if you use the switch on that door? Will it work from the drivers switch? If neather switch works thereis a good chance you have a broken wire in the drivers door. It is commen for the wires to break where they come out of the drivers door and go into the A piller. (where the door bolts to). There in not a inline fuse or relay. The only fuse for the windows is under the dash. Check to see if there is more then one fuse for the windows also......

You probably need a new brake switch. In addition to turning the brake lights on and off, it also allows you to move out of "park" since you can only shift with your foot on the brake. The switch is up in the drivers footwell and has a button on it that is controlled by the brake pedal itself. Check your fuses before you get a new switch.

Removing a relay can cause all kinds of problems. The door ajar switch may have just need to be sprayed with a lubricant to unstick it so the lights would go off.reinstall relay to see if concers goes away.
